Quiz Two SPED 2256 NAME: Minnie Sellars__
1.
Think about the observations that you have completed for SPED 2256. Name at least one activity that you have observed in your assigned classroom that will be done when you have a classroom of your own.
T
he teacher had assigned the kids to do a black history project, where the kids got to select any black person that have made a significant impact in history, or they can pick someone that they have in mind that is not the list. They were given a printed copy of the bio of that person to write
a paragraph on the important things they have done, and they were also instructed to draw a picture. I thought it was a good project for the kids to do for black history while it also gives them more background on that historical figure. 2.
Again, thinking about the observations you have completed for SPED 2256, what is something you have observed in your assigned classroom that you will not do when you have your own classroom?
Not have my students constantly come up to my desk without permission, students should have to raise their hand for me to acknowledge that they need my help unless it is an emergency. 3.
What statements would you provide to someone that argues the required observations for SPED 2256 are not necessary for teacher candidates? Please state either your agreement with this statement or an argument that these observations are necessary.
The observation is good, it’ll give you an insight into the world of teaching so you can get a visual representation of that day in the life of a teacher-student relationship. It’ll help you decide if you really want to be in this profession. 4.
What lesson/requirement of SPED 2256 has impacted you most thus far this semester? Please explain. The insight of the book beautiful child tells you the life of a teacher who teaches a SPED class and it shows that it is not as easy as you think to teach. It took an immense amount of patience and strength to connect with the students without getting mad or upset with them. Another good lesson is learning about the different programs that got integrated into the schools to help the students with mental illness. 5.
Every teacher needs to have a philosophy of teaching. Please write your philosophy of teaching in regard to students with disability.
That my students will receive an education regardless of any disability. They will have access to any material or activity to help them succeed in my class. I won’t give up on them no matter if they want to give up themselves. I will encourage and navigate them to a successful education.
