Report
Criminal justice: Norman Bates is a serial killer who preys on young women who stay at his motel. He uses a kitchen knife as his weapon of choice and disposes of the bodies and evidence in a nearby swamp. He also has a habit of spying on his victims through a peephole in the wall. He is driven by a combination of sexual frustration, maternal fixation, and guilt. He kills because he cannot cope with his own impulses and emotions, and because he believes that he is doing what his mother wants him to do. He also suffers from delusions and hallucinations that make him believe that his mother is still alive and controlling him. Norman’s case shows how some criminals are not rational actors who weigh the costs and benefits of their actions, but rather are influenced by internal and external factors that impair their judgment and morality
