Counterterrorism Approach
The 2005 London bombing was a tragic event that effected the country as well as the people immensely. Immediately following the 2005 London bombings, new models, policies, principles for counterterrorism emerged. Growing interest in counter-terrorism policing, and community policing Partnerships with Muslim communities were developed by the British authorities. Over the past year, there has been a significant increase in incidents of hate crime in the UK and Muslim communities. Immediately after the bombing, Britain took an active part in the legal and
operational actions. They explained that discrimination will not be tolerated and will be severely punished. The London Police, supported by the Mayor of London, emphasized that any hate crime incident will not be tolerated and will be fully prosecuted. In addition to maintaining public order, the use of the full scope of law enforcement has contributed to increased trust from the public community. A method of combating terrorism that the British authorities have focused
on is recruitment. Terrorism strategy is to focus on the concept of low socio-economic conditions, different backgrounds, incarcerated Muslims, and young people in gangs to do their attacks. Muslim partnership Communities have played an important role in preventing recruitment through religious "re-education" in the United States. Arguments against existing Counterterrorism Approach
Many argue that community policing strategies during a task should be focused on mosques. It is
the Islamophobic police who treat Muslims differently and not only police but other people and there are many complaints about this. Around 36,000 Muslims have been stopped and searched by police in connection with the 2000 terrorist attacks. The law allowed police to stop and search
people suspected of possessing terrorism-related items. These stops and searches strained already
strained relations. Not being able to trust in the police destroys any concept of building trust among police officers and the Muslim community. As well as people who live around Muslims that are quick to label them all as terrorist when they are not.
Is the current Counterterrorism Approach Effective
The approach has the right concept or mindset to suppress British Muslims. However, despite their employability, there are many pitfalls with plans set up this way. The method is not effective. This policy targeted the Muslim community has raised other questions. It's about discrimination in law enforcement and intelligence agencies.
Alternative Approaches
The government may have responded differently in several ways. However, while countries can prepare for different situations and outcomes, no group or country can be a hundred percent prepared when a terrorist attack happens. The UK responded as quickly as possible based on the information that was provided. Terrorists have one thing in common, they use, manipulate, and brainwash people to achieve their own goals. After Al Qaeda claimed responsibility for the London terrorist attacks in 2005, their organization grew. Rather than weakening immediately after the 9/11 attacks hostility towards Muslims and Muslim communities has led current and new supporters to want to support the cause of Al-Qaeda. Al Qaeda attacks continue around the
world. No matter how good a country's security and intelligence services are, there are always loopholes through which terrorist attacks slip through the cracks. Community policing is the best
way to combat terrorism. Also, to prepare for all types of counter-terrorism efforts and terrorist attacks. Training for law enforcement and other people involved is the best and most proactive way to prevent and respond to terrorist attacks. Although it is impossible to prevent one hundred percent of the attacks that take place, we can use tools such as intelligence and the use of technology to investigate people and organizations and trace other sources. Another defensive strategy is finding sources of funding. Without funds, terrorists cannot carry out their plans. These include internal and external security forces. Law enforcement, intelligence, border, and other customs services track people, goods, and money as a means of protection or prevention.
Long-Term Impact of Alternative Approach
The Long-Term Effects of Proactive and Defensive Approaches to Counterterrorism is to prevent
terrorist representatives from planning and carrying out attacks. Influencing future policies and procedures to improve risk connection.
