Acute pain is caused by a specific factor. Acute pain has a keen quality to it. This soreness is brief. It is only good for six months. When the source of the discomfort is removed, the agony disappears. Daily activities can resume once the acute discomfort has subsided. Acute pain can be caused by a wide range of injuries, including burns, fractures, surgery, dental procedures, and childbirth[ CITATION Ign20 \l 1033 ]. Chronic pain, on the other hand, is pain that lasts longer than six months. Chronic pain can last for years after the primary cause has healed or faded. Acute pain impulses can be active in the patient's nervous system for months or even years. Certain people often experience chronic pain even in 11/16/2021
the absence of recent physical hurt or injury. Chronic pain has been linked to diseases such as cancer, headaches, fibromyalgia, arthritis, and back pain. 2. Discuss the clinical manifestations and etiologies of acute and chronic pain (3 Points) A gallbladder attack would be excruciatingly painful for the patient. According to the patient, the middle-to-upper quadrant of the abdomen would become extremely uncomfortable. The intense pain may cause back and chest discomfort. The pain may appear and then vanish. Chills, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea will be experienced by the patient. A patient with lung disease, on the other hand, would be in excruciating discomfort[ CITATION Ign20 \l 1033 ]. Symptoms would include dyspnea, dyspnea with mucus or blood in the cough, inability to quit coughing, and chest pain. The symptoms might appear in three to six months. Chronic pain usually induces depression because of the helplessness it brings. Patients suffering from chronic pain may experience fury, melancholy, weariness, and frustration.
