2 The problem chosen for this discussion prompt is patient noncompliance, to which a decision-making model may be applied to discover a solution. Patient noncompliance occurs when a patient willfully refuses to follow the treatment program. Patient noncompliance is a significant issue of concern in the healthcare sector since it can lead to poor health outcomes, a loss in quality of life, and increased healthcare costs. Several measures may be taken to address this issue; however, two are particularly promising: increasing patient education and engagement through patient-centered treatment. Increasing patient education can help patients understand their illness and the need to take their medicine in the prescribed manner. They are more likely to follow doctors' instructions once they comprehend the seriousness of their predicament(Tan, 2020). The other method is to improve patient engagement through patient-centered treatment by making them feel more involved in their health and more motivated to take their medicine as directed. This can improve one's health and general quality of life. By enabling patients to actively engage in their care, where they may have a voice in treatment decisions, treatment can be personalized to their specific requirements. They will actively participate in the treatment program if it meets their requirements resulting in better health outcomes(Kuipers et al., 2019). The two ways are likely to assist patients with self-management. Thus, patients who are aware of their diseases and actively participate in their treatment have better results and experience fewer complications due to the sickness. These strategies also attract patients and improve their satisfaction with their care. As a result, it reduces the provider's liability and medical malpractice while boosting treatment quality and safety(Stone, 2022). Furthermore, implementing such strategies has been shown to increase the overall performance standards of
3 healthcare institutions(Bombard et al., 2018). It also increases employee happiness with their work, resulting in higher retention and a better capacity to attract top personnel. 4 Responses Disc 1 Healthcare in the United States is a concerning trend. Most individuals cannot afford basic healthcare bills due to escalating healthcare costs. Universal healthcare ensures that everyone has access to high-quality, low-cost health-care services. To guarantee that costs remain low, the approach is to migrate to value-based care. Instead of fragmented insurance plans, the other approach is to have stable insurance coverage. Many individuals will benefit from this purchase. Lowering expenses, improving healthcare quality, and improving quality of life are intended outcomes. Disc 2 Nurse burnout jeopardizes healthcare quality by lowering nurses' performance levels. As a result, patients receive lower-quality care, which may be characterized by physical and mental weariness. To address the issue of burnout, more nurses must be hired. This will reduce the additional effort put on nurses. The second strategy is to include nurses in the scheduling process. While self-scheduling is not an option, nurses can work with nurse managers to design schedules that work for everyone. Nurses who have greater control over their schedules are less likely to become fatigued. This will result in better health-care services.
