How a nurse know what (if any) knowledge in a research study is usable for clinical practice Regardless of the setting in which they operate, a nurse would be able to choose what knowledge from a research study is applicable if the data selected would result in the greatest possible patient care. This indicates that study or experience, rather than merely opinion, is the basis for the knowledge used to make decisions on patient care (GOUDREAU, 2022) . A technique should be developed whereby all available facts related to a particular issue or problem are assessed collectively and then combined with the values and preferences of the patient as well as the professional knowledge of the nurse (education, skills, and experience). The nurse can do this in a number of ways, for instance, by first assessing the patient and the necessity of change, formulating clinical questions in light of the patient's problem, and then looking over and incorporating them using relevant research, experience, and clinical knowledge (Niederman & Leitch, 2020) . When a nurse has gained competence in their profession and believes that the research is relevant to patient care, they can use the knowledge they have learned from research studies. Not every study will have relevance for the patient community. To improve the results, a nurse should read the study cover to cover and apply critical thinking techniques to problem solve and contribute creatively to the decision-making process. In order to improve a patient's health state, a nurse might set patient-centered goals with the support of scientific evidence, creativity, and critical thinking (Chatfield & Chatfield, 2022) . Furthermore, continuing cooperation with researchers and doctors, among other healthcare professionals, may offer insightful information and facilitate the incorporation of evidence-based procedures into patient care.
