Customer Concern 1.
Checked the tyre from the Alloy Rim for any damages and removed rocks and previous weights
2.
I Used the tyre machine to break the seal on the steel tyre
3.
Put the tyre properly into the machine and locked it in place
4.
Rotated the tyre so that I will not hit the sensor or the valve when removing the tyre
5.
Used the pry bar to pry out one part of the tyre
6.
Rotated slowly and removed the pry from the tyre
7.
Done the same thing as step 6 removing the boom part of the tyre
8.
There was puncture so we used a drill with the steel brush to sand the area of the hole
9.
Put the patch and sealed it properly to the tyre
10.
Used the tyre lubricant around the seals of the tyre
11.
I Put the tyre back to the machine and started using the arms to help fit the top and boom of the tyre
12.
I then used the air to fill up the tyre and put the valve back in.
13.
Placed the tyre in the balancing machine and balance the tyres using the appropriate weights
14.
Done the same procedure from the start on an steel type rim but instead of locking the tyre from the inside we locked it from the outside of the alloy rim to prevent it being damaged and used the steel weights on the wheels smashed on the inner and outer part of the rims

You go on a road trip to escape the cold winter days of Kirkland Lake, Ontario to the warm beaches of Moonbeam, Ontario. Since it is a long drive and you are leaving early in the morning, you make sure to check the tire pressure and make sure it is at the recommended level.
At lunchtime, you stop for gas and decide to check your car's tire pressure again. You also notice that the tires seem to be a little bit larger than when you left.
The driver's manual suggests a pressure between 205 and 220 kPa. Knowing that the tires heat up while driving; do you expect your reading to be high, low or the same as the recommended tire pressure? Why? Since you plan on staying in Moonbeam a while to see the sights, you think it would be best to adjust your tire pressure. What adjustments should be made to your tires? Should you make these adjustments as soon as you arrive, or the following day?

Tire manufacturers recommend that you check your tire pressure monthly to avoid unnecessary tire wear and enhance safety. This is best done when the tires are cold meaning; the car has not been driven for at least 2 hours. Since you leave for work before the sun comes up you decide to inflate your tires to the recommended pressure right after you get home from work in the afternoon when the tires are still warm. What would you find if you rechecked your tire pressure after the tires have cooled down?
A.Tire pressure has decreased because there is a decrease in kinetic energy of themolecules resulting in more collisions with the inside walls of the tire thusincreasing the pressure inside the tire.
B.Tire pressure has increased because there is a decrease in kinetic energy of the molecules resulting in fewer collisions with the inside walls of the tire thus decreasing the pressure inside the tire.
C.Tire pressure has increased because there is an increase in kinetic energy of the…

You are an engineer working on a project and your prototype has failed prematurely. You question whether or not a key component of the prototype was manufactured with the correct material. There are two way to check for the material properties. The first way is to have a material certification done to confirm the exact material composition. This will take some time. The second method to confirm the material properties is to make an ASTM test sample and test for the material properties. This tensile test was completed on a test sample with an initial diameter of .501” and an initial length of 2”. The Load-Deflection data for this tensile test is below. Use this data to answer the first set of questions on the Final Exam in eLearning. A. Determine the Ultimate Tensile Strength B. Determine the 0.2% Offset Yield Strength C. Determine the value of the Proportional Limit D. Determine the Modulus of Elasticity E. Determine the Strain at Yield F. Calculate %…

Case Study – The New Engineer
Jeff was just hired by GSI, Inc. to be their Environmental and Safety Coordinator. This is Jeff's first position after completing his engineering degree. He had taken a course in safety engineering as part of his studies and felt confident that he could handle the job.
Management at GSI, Inc. has assured him that they are committed to maintaining a safe workplace. They have never had an individual dedicated to this task full-time. They will implement his recommendations if he can justify them.
As Jeff begins to get familiar with the operations, he spends considerable time on the production floor. He notices workers clean their tools before break with a liquid from an unmarked 55-gallon drum. They also use this liquid to clean residue from their skin. They use paper towels to dry their tools and hands, throw these towels in the trash, and head to the break room for a snack and/or smoke.
