1.
Analyze the data
you’ve been provided with to identify themes
:
a.
Which parts are being replaced most?
i.
The part that is being replaced the most is fuel tank. It had the most repairs at 95. This is followed by tire repair at 74 repairs and tire replacement at 66 repairs. b.
Is there a region of the country that experiences more part failures and replacements than others?
i.
Identify region:
1.
Midwest region with 260 repairs.
ii.
How might the fleet maintenance team use the information to update its maintenance schedule? 1.
The fleet maintenance team would use this information to ensure they have the appropriate number of supplies and the correct staffing to support with the various repairs. They would want to allocate more resource to areas with higher repairs. As the maintenance team, they may also want to consider scheduling more maintenance follow ups in areas with higher repairs to take more preventative actions.
c.
Which parts are being replaced most due to corrosion or rust?
i.
Wheel arch is being replaced the most due to corrosion or rust. It has 55 repairs.
This is followed by fender replacement with 54 repairs and rocker panel with 53 repairs.
d.
Which parts are being replaced most because of mechanical failure or accident, like a flat tire or rock through the windshield?
i.
Tire repair is being replaced the most with 74 repairs, then tire replacement at 66 repairs, and windshield replacement at 63 repairs.
2.
Write a brief summary of your analysis
that
takes the information from Step 1 and presents it in
a way that nontechnical stakeholders can understand.
a.
The West and Southwest regions have the least number of repairs and the Midwest and Northeast have the highest amount. When allocating resources to handle repairs, the Midwest and Northeast would need more than the West and Southwest. To support the higher number of repairs, more supplies/equipment, staffing, and possibly training of staff would be necessary.
3.
Outline the approach
that you took to conduct the analysis. a.
What queries did you use to identify trends or themes in the data?
i.
I utilized UNION query to join multiple code statements together to receive data
that is easier to read and understand. I used this query to look at the number of repairs in the region.
b.
What are the benefits of using these queries to retrieve the information in a way that allows you to provide valuable information to your stakeholders?
i.
One benefit includes being able to access information regarding the number of repairs in each region. This allows for easier decision making and comparison. Another benefit is allowing easier analysis of the type of repairs that each region
is experiencing in order to formulate a plan of action around fixing the repairs.
4.
Explain how the functions in the analysis tool allowed you to organize the data and retrieve records quickly.
a.
The functions in the analysis tool allowed me to pull specific information regarding certain repairs and location of repairs. I was able to determine which regions experienced the most repairs. It also allowed me to locate specific repair results.

Direction: Graph the heating curve of ethanol using the information given. Check off each item as you add additional information to your graph so that none is missed.
Background information of Ethanol:
Boiling Point = 78 0C
Melting Point = -114 0C
Starting Temperature = -120 0C
After two minutes, frozen cold ethanol starts to melt. It takes two minutes to melt completely.
After eight more minutes, it begins to boil. It boils for six minutes.
Heat is added for two more minutes until ethanol reaches 80 0C.
Label “melting” where this takes place.
Label “vaporization” where this takes place.
Label “phase change” where a phase change occurs.
Indicate where ethanol is only a SOLID, only a LIQUID, and only a GAS.
Of the three phases, label which phase has: weakest IMF, strongest IMF, and medium IMF.

You are assigned as the head of the engineering team to work on selecting the right-sized blower that will go on your new line of hybrid vehicles. The fan circulates the warm air on the inside of the windshield to stop condensation of water vapor and allow for maximum visibility during wintertime (see images). You have been provided with some info. and are asked to pick from the bottom table, the right model number(s) that will satisfy the requirement. Your car is equipped with a fan blower setting that allow you to choose between speeds 0, 1,2 and 3. Variation of the convection heat transfer coefficient is dependent upon multiple factors, including the size and the blower configuration. You can only use the following parameters:

A dust particle is suspended in the air (floating due to a small updraft and its own low mass) when a powerful loudspeaker plays a very low note (2 Hz so it can’t be heard but you can actually see the speaker move!). How will the dust particle move as a result of the speaker
being turned on?
Question 3 options:
A)
The dust particle will move up and down.
B)
The dust particle will be pushed across the room.
C)
The dust particle will move in a circular path.
D)
The dust particle will move side to side.

A Team of Engineers asked for an internal combustion engine to use it in a designed car. Your role is to describe the operation sequence of different types of available engines, explain their mechanical efficiency, and deliver a detailed technical report to show your approach in solving and discussing the following tasks and issues.
You must follow the following steps to help the team:
STEP 1
Describe the operational sequence of four-stroke spark ignition and four-stroke compression ignition engines with the aid of sketches by constructing simple sketch representing the operation and plotting the P-V diagrams for each process during the cycle to show the following:
The input and output heat and net output work
The expansion and compression strokes
The air-fuel mixture intake and exhaust gasses
The spark plug when it is in the active mode
The complete cycle of ideal Otto and Diesel cycles that shows the input and output heat and net output work.
STEP 2
Explain the mechanical…

Part 1: Do the Analysis of the Ocean Thermal Gradient Power Plant shown
below. Your Analysis will be easier to do in EES but it is up to you. Your
EES program must be well documented and documentation in your code
should reference system sketches. (The cycle and individual components)
These sketches are done on attached engineering or typing paper, unless
you are able to draw them in EES. You must validate your results with hand
calculations on engineering paper that invoke the 1 and 2 Law from the
perspective of the entire cycle, not the individual components. Of course,
a system sketch is required.

temperature of 40 °F. The warm surface water of the ocean is supplying
the thermal energy to the boiler. Assume a high source temperature of 80
°F. The cooler water deeper in the ocean is the sink for heat rejection at
the condenser. Assume a…
