DAD 220 Analysis and Summary Template Replace the bracketed text in this template with your responses and any supporting screenshots. Then submit it to the Module Five Activity for grading and feedback. Rename this document by adding your last name to the file name before you submit. 1. Analyze the data you’ve been provided with to identify themes : a. Which parts are being replaced most? The parts being replaced the most are battery replacements. b. Is there a region of the country that experiences more part failures and replacements than others? i. Identify region:
1. The Midwest Region has the most repairs at 1300. ii. How might the fleet maintenance team use the information to update its maintenance schedule? 1. They could use this information to determine how many people and supplies are needed for the region. As well as what the most likely type of repairs will be. c. Which parts are being replaced most due to corrosion or rust? 1. Fender Replacement is being done the most at 270 Repairs. d. Which parts are being replaced most because of mechanical failure or accident, like a flat tire or rock through the windshield?
i. Tire replacements are being replaced most of the time due to accidents. 2. Write a summary of your analysis that takes the information from Step 1 and presents it in a way that nontechnical stakeholders can understand. Based on the analysis of the provided data, the most frequently replaced part in the fleet is the battery. In terms of region, the Midwest experiences the highest number of repairs, with a total of 1300. This information can help the fleet maintenance team allocate appropriate resources and supplies to the region. When it comes to parts replaced due to corrosion or rust, fender replacements top the list at 270 repairs. On the other hand, tire replacements are most required due to accidents, such as flat tires or objects damaging windshields. 3. Outline the approach that you took to conduct the analysis. a. What queries did you use to identify trends or themes in the data? To identify trends and themes in the data, I used queries to filter and sort the dataset based on specific criteria. For example, I queried the data to identify the most frequently replaced parts, regions with the highest repair counts, parts replaced due to corrosion or rust, and parts replaced due to mechanical failure or accidents. These queries allowed me to extract relevant information from the dataset and identify patterns and themes. b. What are the benefits of using these queries to retrieve the information in a way that allows you to provide valuable information to your stakeholders? i. Using queries to retrieve information provides several benefits. First, it allows for efficient and targeted analysis by filtering the data based on specific criteria. This helps in identifying trends and patterns quickly. Second, queries enable the extraction of valuable insights from large datasets, providing stakeholders with actionable information. By using queries, stakeholders can easily access and understand relevant information without getting overwhelmed by the entire dataset. This approach ensures that non-technical stakeholders can make informed decisions based on the analysis presented to them. 4. Explain how the functions in the analysis tool allowed you to organize the data and retrieve records quickly. a. The analysis tool provided functions that allowed me to organize and retrieve data quickly. Functions like filtering, sorting, and aggregating helped me organize the data based on specific criteria. For example, I could filter the dataset to only show repairs related to parts replacements. This enabled me to focus on the relevant records and extract the necessary information efficiently. Additionally, functions for calculating counts and totals helped in summarizing the data, providing a quick overview of the most common repairs or regions with the highest repair counts. Overall, these functions streamlined the analysis process and facilitated quick retrieval of records based on the desired criteria.
