Justin Cobb AER125 Aircraft Alert System CAU
Advanced Aircraft Systems(AAS) are an essential part of maintaining safety and mitigating emergency situations during flight. AAS is designed to monitor the systems of the aircraft and the environment surrounding it. The safety of the pilot crew and passengers are the focus for these dynamic systems and also help communicate real-time deviations and abnormal hazards. This system is comprised of hardware and software. This involves several sensors that monitor, engine temperature, EGT, altitude, airspeed, OAT, engine performance and angle of attack. The data from these sensors are calculated using complex aircraft data computers which give an indication of normal, cautious, and dangerous situations to the pilot crew. This can range from advisory messages(white), to caution warnings(yellow) to danger and immediate action alerts(red). They also have auditory alert systems that sound off when normal standards are exceeded. The Advanced Aircraft System is designed to give timely alerts or warnings to avoid potential catastrophes. This helps improve situational awareness for the pilot crew. They can help monitor collision avoidance, terrain proximity and clearance, deviation from flight path, and equipment failures. The goal is for the pilot crew to be able to be as well informed as possible to make safe and efficient decisions in a timely fashion. Advancement with technology has allowed synthetic vision systems such as the Heads Up Display(HUD) to allow the PIC to still view critical information like ground reference, airspeed, altitude and attitude indications in the worst of IMC conditions. Ongoing research and commitment to safety will only improve advanced aircraft systems in the aviation community for the future. They definitely help keep the skies much safer when used properly.
