Data Analysis
Figure 1.1 and Table 1.1 display the acquisition data collected for week 4 of ABA 626 (September 19

) while studying SAFMEDS Deck 2. This week’s data display my increased acquisition of

Deck 2 as well as continued maintenance of the Fluency deck. Acquisition accel data is present with a continuing upward trend and no variability. I continued to achieve the AIM goal for all of my timings this
week. My last two acquisition timings for this week were my highest timings, with a 22 accel and 0 decel.
My acqusition accel score shows a 4-point increase from my highest timings of the previous week (9/14 & 9/15 accel 18 decel 0). Acquisition decel data is present with zero trend and no variability. My acquisition decel remained at 0 for the entire week, demonstrating my continued acquisition of Deck 2. Figure 2.1 and Table 2.1 display the fluency data collected for week 4 of this course while studying the Fluency deck, which includes the definition (D) cards from ABA 620-626, and Deck 1 of this course. Fluency accel data is present with an increasing trend and high level. The AIM goal was maintained for all 5 fluency timings this week. Fluency decel data is present at zero trend and no variability. My last fluency timing of the week was also my highest Fluency timing this week (9/23 accel 30 decel 0). My fluency data indicate that I am continuing to maintain the cards from previous decks, with an increasing trend from that of the previous week. My acquisition and fluency data allow me to confidently predict that I will continue to maintain the AIM goal in week 5. My goal is to maintain my high accel scores next
week and maybe even achieve a 25 acquisition accel score before moving onto the next deck.
Study Approach and Adjustments
Antecedent My goal for this week was to show increased acquisition of both decks by increasing my accel scores. As a form of positive reinforcement for meeting my weekly SAFMEDS goals, I have been buying myself one item from my Amazon wish list (usually below $20). I set an additional goal to achieve an acquisition accel of 20 before the end of the week. If I achieved this, I would allow myself to get two $20-25 items or one $50 item instead of one $20 item. I ran all of my timings in my home office this week, and I have seen an overall improvement in my study habits after my roommate and her daughter moved out a couple weeks ago. I still tend to run the majority of my timings during the evening.

I tend to have more energy in the evenings and more time to focus on my schoolwork. I met all of my goals this week, so I am purchasing a very cute set of fridge magnets that look like baked goods, and a welcome mat for our front door that reminds my boyfriend and I to grab our phone, keys, and wallet before we head out the door (we tend to be pretty forgetful). Behavior
I work on my acquisition deck first since it takes me longer to get through my acquisition timings. For both decks, I shuffled my cards and began reviewing them without the timer. I sat at my living room table or my desk and sorted my cards into two piles as I slowly read through the entire deck. One pile was for cards that I could say out loud without any difficulty. The second pile was for cards where I either said the incorrect term, could not say a term at all, or where it took me more than a few seconds for me to say the term out loud. After I completed the whole deck, I went through the second pile
of cards and worked on drilling those until I was able to say the correct term out loud and without difficulty. I then combined both piles of cards and ran through them again without the timer. After I got through the entire deck without getting any terms incorrect, I then began to run my timings. I ran 5 timings for Deck 2 and 3 timings for my fluency deck for 5 days this week and recorded the timings with the highest accel scores. Consequence After I record my best timings for the day, I enter them into an ongoing note on my phone where I track my weekly SAFMEDS timings and record the date, time, deck, accel and decel. I do this just in case I forget to record my timings in Precision X, so I can make sure that I am entering accurate results. Usually by the end of the day I try to remember to enter my data into Precision X. I look at my data to see if there is an upward trend for both of my decks. If there is, then I do not make any adjustments to my study methods. I also aim to beat my accel score for the previous day when I run my timings. I met and exceeded my weekly goal for all of my timings this week. I maintained a decel of 0 for
all of my timings. My acquisition accel data has no variability and an upward trend, and my acquisition decel data has no variability and zero trend, so no adjustments are necessary this week. I anticipate that I will see either a moderate increasing or zero trend with my acquisition and fluency accel data as I

continue to master both decks, and I feel confident that I will be ready to transition Deck 2 to the fluency deck and begin working on Deck 3.
