2 Unit 8 Assignment The newest business in town is Solar Panels Planet (SSP), where we have just about every option of clean solar energy in stock whether you are leasing or buying your panels. My job at SPP is to ensure that our social media presence with the local community is established and being seen across social media. I must establish the use of the social media checklist to increase our sales so we can continue providing a free, renewable resource. To have a successful campaign I must heighten public relations. Increasing public relations entail having two-way communication with the consumer to bring our brand into the light (Andrews & Shimp, 2018). A way I can accomplish this is by employing a comical advertisement involving a connection between solar energy and the consumer. This can build a relationship and interest in our product almost immediately. Another method would be to engage in sponsorships, events, or causes in the community. An example of this would be to sponsor a 5K race where the proceeds go towards cancer research or anything that can benefit another positive organization (Andrews & Shimp, 2018). Another way I can spread the word about our business is to promote holiday events such as sales or open houses such as a Memorial Day Sale or having our product in Honor of our Troops. Making a connection to important events or people brings attention to our organization from consumers. My plan for this campaign is to target the local residential population. Mt idea is to use our plant’s current climate position to show how beneficial out product can be to not just our consumers’ wallets but the environment as well. Using Facebook as our main social media for advertising will be very beneficial. Facebook has more monthly active users (MAUs) and daily active users (DAUs) compared to any other social media platform. Using them can help spread our business effectively and inexpensively. While
3 advertising I need to make sure our ads are effective including the business’s name, appropriate contact information, and target the residents in our area. Also, having our ads connected to RSVP events, certain clicks, or pages a user follows. Sharing our ads with these factors will bring us to the consumer who could be interested in our product closer to becoming a loyal customer. Using social media as an IMC tool will require constant attention and updates along with the integration of other future uses of different IMC tools. Paying attention to the feedback from our consumers or viewers of our advertisements is also crucial. Doing so will allow me to make changes to advertisements that can appeal to potential consumers (Andrews & Shimp, 2018). Using our advertisement to bring a product that will be helpful and beneficial to the consumer is the key to being effective in social media advertising (Andrews & Shimp, 2018).
