Wk2Discussion-ConsideringLeadershipFramework
Assess the leadership theory/framework that you believe aligns with the organization in question.
My current organization is Transformational Leadership. At my current employer, they are trying to change
the system to help production run smoother. They have discovered the old ways do not work anymore, so
change is inevitable. Also, maximizing the managers' knowledge is the main focus of implementing these
changes, changing the structure, and retooling the outdated portions of the company.
Transformational leadership is a type of leadership that inspires people to try and achieve the
unexpected, accomplish goals, increase morale, and tackle conflicts[CITATION Ant17 \l 1033 ].
Provide a rationale to support your selection of the leadership theory/framework for the
organization, including relevant, appropriate examples and details (without identifying the
organization or any individuals), as well as specific lessons that can be learned from the theory
based on your observations and experiences.
My current workplace has a lot of old machines that are very difficult to find parts. These machines take
up a lot of space and create a stress level that is off the charts. The managers are slowly implementing
processes that will replace these old machines with more efficient ones that are up to date.
Another example is knowledge pay. Employees that fulfill their 90-day probation period can learn new
jobs in other departments for a knowledge pay raise. However, they must train and work in that new
position for at least two weeks after the training. After that, they are qualified to get a fifty-cent raise. This
process allows cross-training in other departments and utilizing other employees' knowledge[CITATION
Chi19 \l 1033 ].
Based on the employee's morale, knowledge pay is a great feature that allows employees to earn more.
In addition, the company likes it because it creates several employees that can work in other positions for
absenteeism or vacations.
Transformational leadership is solving challenges that do not fit anymore. Understanding and utilizing the
manager's skills, knowledge, and experience are essential to this leadership style. The company's
president is constantly telling us he is trying to restructure, change the culture, and move forward in a new
direction[CITATION Cle13 \l 1033 ].
