Wk7Discussion -WMBA-6020-EmbracingChange Explain how you feel about change, as well as how you typically react to it. Some people view change as a difficult obstacle to overcome and offer resistance, while others welcome change. Either way, change should be viewed as a challenge, but embraced with enthusiasm and potential growth. I look forward to changes, especially in areas that are struggling. Of course, it also depends on the person presenting the change. For example: My current workplace, the president and vice president are constantly making changes, but do not research or talk to employees about those changes which causes chaos and employees quitting. Those changes were not well planned. Identify an example from your professional life in which change occurred at an organization and explain how that process went. Be specific about how the change was implemented, including communication of the change, involvement of stakeholders, etc. One change that occurred in my current workplace is the organization of supplies. Before I began working there, parts, supplies, and raw materials were just received and thrown wherever they could find a spot. This caused parts, supplies, and raw materials to be missing or lost. Cabinets and shelving were put in to organize, label, and have accountability for everything. It took over six months to get this going. I had to create a power point presentation, research costs, and prove this would be more cost effective for the company. There was a lot of paperwork, research, and four different presentations before this change was approved. The presentations had to be presented to the management group, then the higher up, and then the board members. It was a little nerve racking, but in the end the project was approved. Explain how the handling of that organizational change impacted you, your colleagues, and the organization as a whole. Provide specific examples to support your explanation. This new organization project impacted everyone. Now, the leadership group can locate and find necessary parts, supplies, and raw materials very easily. Nothing gets lost or missing. Since there is a new organization project in place, the re-order process is easier, as well as counting inventory. All employees, including management, love the new organization. The plant is extremely organized. Many reps that come to visit make comments about how nice the place looks compared to how it used to be. Walking through the
