Leadership Style in Social Work My agency has been exceptional in handling different clients and the problems presented. The teamwork exemplified through amicable leadership that embraced the constructs of transformational leaders ensured every individual benefited from every task, event, and above all the humanitarian services offered in a larger spectrum. According to Díaz-Sáenz (2011), transformational leadership is defined as a leadership approach that causes change in individuals and social systems. In an encounter with a client whose name is classified, he was facing a court charge of driving under the influence (DUI). It happens that this was his second time getting charged. In the previous situation, he was jailed and compelled to court-ordered mental health therapy to make him sober. During his visit, he showed a great loss of hope, low confidence, and self-esteem. One of the agency's mental health counselors addressed the issue by first incorporating inspirational motivation to reduce the pressure and distress associated with the current situation. through inspirational motivation, the client opened up and explored all his stressors making it easier to initiate change as the crisis, of alcoholism was addressed. The counselor also had a great individual consideration for the client and focused on his potential rather than on his weaknesses making the problem-solving process faster using the cognitive behavioral therapy CBT. In the long run, an idealized influence was evident in the change process because the counselor acted as a role model to reshape the client's lifestyle beliefs. The counselor projected an ideal sense of intellectual stimulation that ensured the outcome was fruitful. Transformational leadership is effective for clients in a group setting. The factors considered in the mentioned leadership model embrace equity and a collaborative approach to dealing with problems. Advocacy, for example, is a common take in many groups as they focus on creating a
positive social change that may capture economic justice or advanced social justice. When used in a group setting, transformational leaders identify and emphasize associates' needs and values (Díaz-Sáenz, 2011). In this regard, transformational leaders empower followers to do what is best for the organization besides acting as strong role models with high values References Díaz-Sáenz, H. R. (2011). Transformational leadership. The SAGE handbook of leadership, 5(1), 299-310.
