This is a skills-based assessment and you will be assessed on your ability
to demonstrate skills required in the unit.
This assessment is in 2 parts:

To complete this part of the assessment, you will be required to participate in a practical demonstration of how to complete a task or activity.
These practicals will be observed by your assessor, and you are required to screenshot the required steps and submit as evidence.
Your responses will be used as part of the overall evidence requirements of the unit.

Scenario
You have been assigned the task of installing, configuring and testing VirtualBox to determine that it will be suitable for the organisation’s needs..
Technical requirements
As part of the testing you will need to demonstrate that VirtualBox can support the following
technical requirements:

Installing and configuring the selected virtualisation environment
●
Use a range of network types such as:

Host-only
o
NAT/NAT Network
o
Bridged
●
Support sharing folders between host and guest
●
Support use of physical USB devices
●
Backup and restore from current state
●
Backup and restore virtual machine drive and settings
Demonstration task 1: Install and configure virtualisation software - VirtualBox
In this task you are to obtain and install the current version of Oracle VirtualBox. You can download VirtualBox using the URL provided in the Assessment Instructions.

Install VirtualBox as per “Installation details” section of the Oracle VirtualBox User Manual.
