The two legislative documents include: Standard Operating procedure (SOP) documentation and the workplace risk assessment template. The SOP includes the procedures that each employee engages in daily operations, where it outlines the worker’s roles and company regulations aiming to reduce miscommunication increasing the quality of the output and enhancing uniformity which will leads to work with full efficiency. The SOP may include the risks that are related to each task and the viable controlling measures. The risk template is a useful material in risk management process and ensures that the company is
upto date with the necessary information on all possible risks and hazards, analysing their likelihood, whom they can affect and their effects as well. Why don’t they comply and what will you do as the new WHS officer to ensure they comply? The SOP failed to comply because it will not state the role of different employees tasked with effecting the safety at workplace and it only touches the employee’s representatives which is related to communication of the employees and the management, further this document will not have corporation, coordination and consultation. As it only has sharing information news it may leads to decrease the employee satisfaction and misrepresentation. And there are more information on various areas including training , various risks for employees. The risk assessment template will not give any information related to employees mostly likely to be affected by the WHS system at workplace, this will increase the risk mitigation process
As the new WHS Officer at the cannery what actions will you take to ensure legal compliance? As the new WHS officer I would firstly search and incorporate for the missing information of the legal documentation ensuring clear work procedures and they are updated regularly to comply with the WHS updates. The SOP must have information related to potential hazards and risks associated with every task and the operating environment, control measures and personal protective equipment that should be worn for every task. The risk assessment template must include information about the people at risk of being affected by various other risks and the environments of risk occurrence possibility. A SWMS will be implemented and strictly practiced in order to enhance the safety of employees and productivity. Design a WHS management system to suit two (2) needs of the organisation Procedures and policies: The WHS system will enhance safe workplace procedures (SWP) and other various policies implemented by various other stakeholders Audits and inspections: This WHS system will implement audits and inspections to make sure that everything is smoothly running and will rectify the areas that request improvements. These procedures will offer insights to the areas that need improvement and help to develop necessary solution to any problem that
arises. Safe training management: It is essential to handle proper and thorough training for employees to ensure that each employee
is able to handle any equipment related to their job duties and work safely. All the employees must understand the guidelines of the company and the work and need to follow them strictly to reduce number of accidents, injuries, sickness, and machine failures. Also, understanding the code
of ethics and policies are also have equal importance. Risk management: Risk management will include with all the measures to identify any hazard or risk, the people who are most likely to be affected, probability of occurrence areas where the risks and hazards are more likely to occur and effects of the hazards including injuries and other effects on the company like productivity. The risk management will include the possible ways to reduce and deal with risks and hazards as well. Explain who you will consult with and why For efficient development and implementation of the WHS systems effectively there are various stakeholders that I would consult with. I will go to the employees to consult to ensure that they share their grievances and making sure their views are being offered a place and incorporate into the system. I will consult with the management of the company to ensure the implemented system will enhance the company goals and ensure that required resources are being allocated. Also, I will consult with the legal authorities to ensure that the company and the whole system is adhering to the legal guidelines of work health and safety. address current WHS management practices Financial: to understand about the cost of new workplace, signage like entrance, exit and emergency doors that needs to be installed. Related to workplace security upgrades. Also to know about new equipment that is required
Human: to understand about the new job role and expertise gaps, greater control over employees inside the workplace Specialists: who may be also engineers and experts in the field of machinery maintenance and repair, health education advise including first aid
Develop WHS two (2) policies and procedures that will address current workplace issues and, in a format, readily accessible to all personnel Policy 01: all hazards and risks identified in the daily activities must be reported to the relevant authorized personnel. In return he will consult with the health and safety representative, these hazards must be recorded with an action plan on the inspection checklist. Policy 02: only authorized or only a qualified employee can operate a particular machine or equipment. While operating safety guidelines should be followed.

Explain why it is important that cannery staff have job descriptions that reflect WHS and work tasks requirements It is essential when hiring qualified workers, reviewing performance, and providing the necessary resources to ensure that WHS guidelines and polices are implemented. Explain the key personal that you will consult with when planning WHS training. Including the designated times for consultation and the consultation mechanisms I would consult with the managers and employees and review the WHS risk register in a regular basis. I will consult them during their break times and that interview can be collected as their feedback as well
