Introduction SpecialChemCo's integrated management system combines ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards to guarantee the highest standards of environmental and safety requirements. Parts of OHSAS 18001 and 14001 are included to ensure that all safety and environmental health requirements are fulfilled. This approach places a strong emphasis on planning, support, operation, performance evaluation, and improvement as essential elements of the safety and environmental management system. In the content that follows, the PDCA cycle and SpecialChemCo's integrated workplace safety and environmental system are covered in detail. To aid in implementation, a process flow swim diagram is supplied, which shows the relationships between significant process steps and the people or organizations in responsibility of them. Level 1: Safety and Environment Integrated Management System Scope: The Safety and Environmental Integrated Management System satisfies both ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards and is applicable to all employees and other parties engaged in the business at the SpecialChemCo site. All on-site environmental and safety responsibilities, including hazardous material handling, waste management, and emergency response, are handled by the system. SpecialChemCo's goal is to meet customer needs and expectations while maintaining the highest levels of worker and stakeholder safety and environmental sustainability. This system outlines the specific practices, frameworks, and projects needed to ensure worker safety and environmental health. The management of SpecialChemCo supports it and uses it as a roadmap to ensure operational excellence.
Authority: The Safety and Environmental Integrated Management system is jointly overseen by the Corporate Safety & Environment Officer and the Divisional Safety & Environment Officer (Vitale et al., 2019). In cases such as serious non-conformances or disdain for safety and environmental standards, they both answer to the informed, approved, and competent management board. Level 2: Management System for Safety and the Environment The Framework of Organizations: The Safety and Environmental Integrated Management System of SpecialChemCo is divided into four sections: operation, performance evaluation, planning, support, and improvement. The Corporate Safety and Environment Officer is in charge of the system as a whole, while the Divisional Safety and Environment officers oversee daily operations and the implementation of strategies based on the defined modules, aims, and objectives. The Corporate Safety and Environment Officer is responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans related to the safety and environmental management system. The Divisional Safety and Environment officers are the decision-making body in charge of the activities that ensure the system's effective implementation (Enarsson et al., 2022). Guidebooks: The modular Integrated Management System has to be maintained by SpecialChemCo employees. The modules in use are: - Planning - Support - Operation
- Performance Evaluation - Improvement Every module uses the PDCA cycle by defining the tasks, processes, and standard operating procedures that must be completed by the people in charge of each module. specifications for the documentation By establishing a methodical documentation and records system, SpecialChemCo ensures the proper deployment and maintenance of all Integrated Management System components. This paper includes the following information: - Manual for the Integrated Management System for Safety and Environment - Environmental and Safety Policies - Procedures for Safety and Environment - Working Guidelines - Training Documents - Records of Audit and Verification Level 3: Safety and Environmental Management System Procedures Organizing: Ensuring that SpecialChemCo's environmental and safety operations are optimized and in compliance with all applicable legislation is the aim of the planning stage. Planning is the initial stage of the PDCA cycle, and it requires adherence to the Integrated Management System Manual. The Corporate Safety and Environment Officer is in charge of defining the goals, objectives, and targets related to environmental and safety operations. The last part of the planning module consists of two actions:

Make an environmental and safety policy statement: The work at hand is drafting and distributing the safety and environmental policy statement, which addresses all activities related to safety and the environment. The policy statement ought to be shared with each worker on the property and should be evaluated once a year. Establish aims and goals for safety and the environment: The corporate safety and environment officer is in charge of developing safety and environmental goals and targets, using the safety and environmental policy statement as a reference. Support: According to Smith et al. (2020), the support module is in responsibility of providing the resources needed to ensure that environmental and safety-related activities are compliant and carried out as effectively as feasible. It entails duties including staffing, providing adequate resources, and providing training. The extra section of the support module consists of four actions: Identify and allocate resources: The corporate safety and environment officer is responsible for identifying and allocating the resources required to support the environmental and safety-related operations. This include figuring out how many personnel, materials, equipment, and other resources are required to manage the safety and environmental operations effectively. The divisional safety and environmental officers are responsible for allocating workers, supplies, machinery, and other resources to provide the best possible safety and environmental operations.
Make SOPs and work instructions: The goal at hand is to create work instructions and standard operating procedures that outline the proper methods for doing duties connected to safety and the environment. To ensure compliance with applicable regulations, personnel on the scene must be made aware of these processes and follow them. The divisional safety and environment officers are in charge of providing on-site safety and environmental training to employees. Ensuring that employees are knowledgeable about environmental and safety problems is the goal of the training. Operation: The operation module is responsible for implementing safety and environmental protocols on the job site. It covers things like garbage management, emergency response, and handling dangerous materials. The following four activities make up the operation module: Waste Management: The divisional safety and environment officers are responsible for implementing the waste management program on the project site to ensure that hazardous materials are disposed of appropriately. Hazardous Materials Handling: Divisional safety and environment officers are in responsibility of implementing the hazardous materials handling program on the project site to ensure that hazardous materials are handled safely and appropriately. Emergency response: The divisional safety and environment officers are responsible for implementing the emergency response program on the job site in order to provide a suitable response to any safety or environmental problems.
Monitoring and Auditing: The divisional safety and environment officers are responsible for monitoring and auditing the safety and environmental activities occurring on site to ensure that all applicable regulations are being followed. Performance Evaluation: The performance evaluation module is in charge of evaluating the environmental and safety activities occurring on the site in order to ensure that every activity is carried out as effectively as feasible. It entails identifying areas that require improvement, analyzing data, and evaluating performance. The performance evaluation module consists of the following four actions: Data Analysis: The divisional safety and environment officers are responsible for evaluating data related to safety and environmental operations on site in order to identify areas that require improvement. Measuring Performance: The divisional safety and environment officers are responsible for assessing the efficacy of safety and environmental activities on the job site in order to identify areas that require improvement. Identifying Improvement Areas: The divisional safety and environment officers are in responsibility of identifying improvement areas. They do this by using performance analysis and statistics as a reference. Reporting: It is the responsibility of the divisional environmental and safety officers to compile information about the effectiveness of the environmental and safety activities carried out on-site.

Improvement: The enhancement module is in charge of implementing actions to ensure that each identified area for improvement is taken care of. It entails dealing with issues, planning preventative and remedial actions, and assessing outcomes, among other things. The improvement module is further divided into four actions: Aligning Preventive and Corrective Actions: The divisional safety and environment officers are responsible for planning corrective and preventative actions to address any areas that have been recognized as needing improvement. Implementing Preventive and Corrective Measures: The divisional safety and environment officers are in responsible of carrying out the scheduled corrective and preventative actions in order to address any areas of improvement that have been identified. Resolving Issues: The divisional safety and environment authorities are responsible for resolving any issues that arise from the corrective and preventative actions being conducted. Analyzing Preventative and Corrective Actions: The divisional safety and environment officers are in responsible of evaluating the remedial and preventative measures put in place to ensure their efficacy. Level 4: Process Flow Swim Diagram The process flow swim diagram that follows illustrates and explains the relationship between each significant process step and the people or entities in charge of it.
