What is Surrogacy? Surrogate women gives the consent for the procedure It is the type of arrangement in between a women who can get pregnant, give birth to the child and hand over the baby to intended parents for being raised.
Types of Surrogate Mothers GESTATIONAL MOTHERS The intended mother is unable to carry the baby to full term, so, the embryo is transplanted to the surrogate mother’s womb for completion of gestational period. There is no genetic relationship between the Surrogate mother and the baby TRADITIONAL MOTHERS In this type of surrogacy, the egg of the surrogate mother is artificially fertilized with the sperm of intended father. The surrogate mother is genetically related to the baby.

Types of Surrogacy Commercial Surrogacy Altruistic Surrogacy Surrogacy fee is paid to the surrogate mother for carrying the baby. No Fee is paid in this type of surrogacy, only some incentives are given if required.
WHAT IS ACCEPTED IN CANADA AND ALBERTA Altuiristic Surrogacy is accepted in Canada. According to Assisted Human Reproduction Health, S.C.2004, c. 2 , Canada No money to be paid or accepted. Only out of pocket expenses to be reimbursed. Surrogate mother should not be under 21 years of age.
ALBERTA: An Ideal Place for Surrogacy The process here is simple and easy to follow. Surrogate parents can be legal parents within 30 days of the birth. Gay parents are also accepted equally. International parents are treated same as Canadian residents
