The lesson is called Sensory time.

This lesson is beneficial for the children because it helps with fine motor skills, sensory exploration, and

benefits from hands on activities

Teaching Practices:
Introduction:
I will use a puppet and talk to the children in a funny voice while showing them the
sensory bins. These students have already played with different sensory items such as a sensory board
and sensory bottles.
Implementation:
First I will ensure I have all items needed and ready to go for this lesson. Then I will
have all my students come sit down at our table. Once everyone is sitting down at our table I will then
bring out my puppet and begin explaining the lesson and what we are doing. Once I get them all excited
about the lesson and get done explaining it I will pass out the sensory bins 1 per 2 children. I will then
talk with the children while they play. I will walk around to each child individually and ask them to find
certain items within the sensory bins.
Support for All Learners:
To meet the whole group's needs I will ensure that I am walking around helping and talking to each child.
The strategy for this lesson is to ensure all children are okay with certain textures as well as ensure I am
implementing fine motor skills. I will avoid bias by looking at myself while teaching this lesson and being
cautious and ensuring I am not just spending time with one child. Also by ensuring I have all necessary
items needed to carry out this lesson.
Closure:
During this lesson I have had multiple students that mastered the fine motor skills and absolutely loved
the lesson. I did however have a few students that I will need to redo this lesson with. The children I
need to redo the lesson with had issues with the textures of certain items. I did notice throughout this
lesson a few things I would do differently. One of the things I'd do differently would be to have a sensory
bin for each child instead of one for every 2 children. The sensory bins weren't big enough for two
children to play in them. Another thing that I would do differently for this lesson would be changing the
introduction up a little. Next time I will not use a puppet I will come up with a song for this lesson. I have

noticed that my children love to sing and love songs. I feel this will get the children more excited. I will
also have more sensory bins with different textures and will switch them out each lesson. In closure I
believe this lesson is one that I will be doing with my students more often.
