It is important to use a variety of sources when conducting historical research. Multiple sources
can provide either corroborate facts or establish credibility. Multiple sources can bring the truth
about a topic. They can also provide a different perspective regarding a topic.

insight to the political climate before the Chernobyl explosion.

After the Chernobyl events, the USSR dissolved in the following decades. Mikhail Gorbachev,
who was credited for dissolving the USSR, is quoted as saying Chernobyl was the real cause of
the Soviet Union. They are connected because after the dissolution of the USSR, the United
States became a superpower. In other words, a nuclear explosion helped secure the United
States’ spot to be a world
