COLLEGIATE ESPORTS IN CANADA Since 2017, the Canadian esports community has expanded quickly, with several small enterprises in the west cultivating more established scenes. Ontario, Quebec, and British Columbia, or more precisely Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver, are home to the majority of Canada's scenes. The Canadian esports market has seen a large influx of American companies. Canada does better than the United States in terms of education, at least in Ontario, Quebec, and British Columbia. From a college perspective, Canadian Universities have done a respectable job of developing varsity esports programs and even esports educational programs, especially since 2018. For instance, Ontario's Lambton College developed Esports Entrepreneurship and Administration, North America's first-ever post-secondary esports curriculum (a mouthful). The first graduate certificate in esports-related business was developed by Durham College in Ontario. In terms of the creation, adoption, and acceptability of varsity esports programs at numerous institutions, Canada does lag behind. Most institutions lack college-backed varsity programs, including most of those in Ontario, the province that has developed esports the fastest. In addition, unlike what we see in the US with the High School Esports League and PlayVS, Canada does not see esports influencing the high school scene. While Canada only actually has the MYEMB, HSEL has even relocated and is pursuing the

middle school esports market. Furthermore, the majority of Canadian colleges will fully support varsity programs within the next three to five years as they become more important factors in students' decisions about which institution to attend.  On the other hand, the harsh reality is that businesses consider all of their possibilities when they are interested in sponsoring teams in the global esports industry. That said, Canadian teams often do better at expanding their Canadian fan base and are increasingly being used as a vehicle by firms to advertise their goods, particularly American hardware and beverage manufacturers hoping to tap the Canadian market. However, esports can also be a source of income by pursuing the knowledge of Professional esports athlete, Event host/caster/commentator, Coach/analyst, Event organizers, Journalist/writer, Social media manager, and many much more. This report's conclusion indicates that eSports have a better future than before. Although competitive gaming has been practiced for a while, it has only recently experienced a truly

significant rise in popularity. As a result of this rise in popularity, revenues double, transforming electronic gaming from a merely amusing activity into a thriving multibillion- dollar market. Given that the eSports market will likely continue to expand for a considerable amount of time, investing in eSports as a business would probably be a good decision. This is due to the ongoing technological advancements and inventions, which will increase the popularity of gaming and eSports. The eSports industry is booming, with viewership already exceeding that of traditional sports.
