A task group are groups that work to meet a specific task. According to the text there are many examples of these groups including board of directors, committees and task forces”(Kirst-Ashman, 2018). Educational groups are groups that aim to provide information to group members. According to the text these groups are done through presentations, activities and discussions(Kirst-Ashman, 2018). Task groups are similar to educational groups in a way because they both aim at a goal which is to complete a task. Educational groups' task would be to educate the members through information. I believe this is similar to a task group The type of treatment that I would facilitate would be therapy groups. The purpose of this treatment group is to change behaviors and thinking. This would be helpful for the population I want to work with. Juveniles would be able to benefit from learning coping skills/ problem solving as well as having support and someone to advocate for them. The professional role that I would take on is being a facilitator as well as a broker. This would allow the group to be more open and discuss what's on their mind while being able to support one another. This would also allow me to provide proper resources to the group Group norms according to the text are expectations about how group members will conduct themselves in the group (Kirst-Ashman, 2018) as well as unwritten rules that will help with the goal of the group. I would shape these norms by modeling these norms in my groups Group roles are roles that people take on to help the group succeed and reach the goal of the group. Maintenance roles are included in groups. In a maintenance role there is a tension reliever. According to the text tension relievers help through difficult moments in the group and provide humor (Kirst-Ashman, 2018). A group member may take on this role to make others in the group feel comfortable. With the population that I want to work with, there will be difficult topics discussed as well as difficult moments. Having a tension reliever in the group would help with this. A group role that would be challenging for me as a leader is blockers. In the text it states that blockers “are usually the ones to say yes, but…”(Kirst-Ashman, 2018).This would be difficult for me as a leader because this role consists of someone who finds reasons why things won't work. It would be challenging for me as a leader because this role might discourage other group members from accepting this treatment. I would then have to find positives to what the group member may rebuttal to. References Kirst-Ashman, K. K., & Hull, G. H., Jr. (2018).
