General Introduction
I will first premise this introduction by stating that this is the first time that I have ever had to write a subjective journal or any type of paper that asked me if I agreed or disagreed with the feedback provided by my instructor and how I will address the feedback. To be completely honest, I found this course curriculum to be the most confusing I have ever completed since I started at SNHU over 3 ½ years ago. However, some of the feedback that I did receive to be proficient and exemplary in my milestones included the following: 1) the overview/summary, 2) the interpretation of mission, vision, and values, 3) impact of mission, vision, and values, 4) articulation of response, 5) analysis of the issue, 6) analysis of the concerns, 7) analysis of the policies, 8) SWOT analysis, and 9) analysis of the environmental factors. The areas that I received feedback needing improvement include the following: 1) the analysis approach, 2) analysis of the role of the healthcare manager, 3) analysis of the stakeholders, 4) analysis of mission, vision, and values, 5) analysis of current Policies, 6) analysis of changes, 7) analysis of strategic planning, and 8) analysis of influence. As of this journal writing, I have not received feedback on my Milestone Five submission yet. Specific Issues: Agree
I do agree with the feedback in milestone two about the analysis approach and the role of the healthcare manager in strategic planning. To improve these two areas, I re-read the textbook and identified the organization’s approach to strategic planning based on its mission, vision, and values. I also identified the role the healthcare manager plays in terms of strategic planning around the specific issue at Huntington Health, the high number of AR days. I also agree with the feedback regarding the analysis of the mission, vision, and values. I re-read my information and realized that I omitted the information regarding the strategic plan. I added the information

to help address this issue. I do agree that I could have been clearer regarding the analysis of the role the healthcare manager plays in terms of strategic planning around policy development. To improve this issue, I rephrased some of my response and added some additional supporting information from the textbook. After re-reading the feedback and textbook, I agree with the feedback about the analysis of the influence the stakeholders have in terms of the strategic planning process in terms of policy development. I added additional supporting information from
the textbook that will provide information on how they influence this process. I believe each of these improvements and additions will help provide clarification for my analysis. Specific Issues: Disagree
While I appreciated all the feedback provided, I did not totally agree with all of it. I do not agree with the feedback provided regarding the analysis of the analysis of the stakeholders and the role they play in the strategic planning for the issue at HH. Without providing direct quotes from the textbook and using my previous experience as a healthcare billing manager, I believe that I provided a high-level overview of the role that each of these stakeholders play in the strategic planning process. I also do not necessarily agree with the current policies analysis feedback. The rubric states how do I “feel” the current organizational policies address the influence of the identified environmental or external factors. This is a subjective analysis and although I did not specifically say there were no written policies in this section, I did state that there were no formal policies, which is essentially the same. My first and last sentences do say how the policies and procedures address the issues at HH. The last feedback that I don’t necessarily agree with is the analysis of the policy changes needed. I did provide several policy changes that I believed the organization should implement that would be helpful to this specific issue. The rubric did not specifically state that I should have referred to what our textbook or any

other reading material recommended, it specifically stated what policy changes did “feel” need to
be implemented. I did reference my own experience.
Steps
The specific steps that I will take to make improvements in my final submission will be to implement the changes and improvements that I mentioned above such as including the additional supporting information from the textbook. I will also re-word some of the information in several sections to ensure the information is clearer and easier to understand. One additional item that I have done to make improvements is to ensure that my citations and references are correct.
