DEP2002 Unit 5 assignment Intelligence Testing Intelligence means having and using knowledge to our best abilities. Having intelligence is being intellectual in school, work, and in our everyday life. Yes, intelligence can be measured in children because intelligence is gained from learning and obtaining what is learned in our daily lives. Intelligence is a tool for progress. It enables people to better understand their present situation so that they may change accordingly. There is no constraint on significance. An IQ test can identify areas where a child excels and areas where they may want further assistance. It does not assess the capacity to perceive individuals on a deeper level, innovation, consistency, strength, or thoroughness. Guardians and teachers should not use insight testing to determine a child's genuine potential or future success. Intelligence testing can assist instructors in determining a student's requirements and expectations for academic performance. Measuring children's intellect can be useful for educational and intervention objectives. Individual talents and shortcomings can be identified via
assessment methods, allowing for more targeted instructional techniques. However, it is critical to address the ethical implications, possible biases, and varied nature of intelligence (APA, 1
2018). Some pros are that they are Comprehensive assessments, clinical applications, norm referenced, a holistic perspective, individualization, and motivation. Some cons are that they are cultural bias, a single snapshot, test anxiety, Subjectivity, validity problems, and a potential lack of educational specialization.
After taking both tests, my results were Interpersonal intelligence. Which refers to the ability to comprehend and communicate successfully with people. This intelligence includes the capacity to recognize and respond to other people's emotions, temperaments, dispositions, motives, and wants. This is called "people-person" intelligence. It is visible in effective teachers, social workers, performers, and politicians, and it is mostly based on interpersonal interactions and communication. It entails abilities like as successful communication, collaboration with people toward a shared objective, and recognizing differences amongst persons. If someone has a
high level of interpersonal intelligence, they are likely to be popular and have many friends. As a
youngster, Interpersonal persons were most frequently the leader of a group, able to organize and
persuade others with ease. Their ability to interpret and comprehend empathy with others makes them an excellent mediator and possible earpiece for many of their pals. They learn best when they participate in group activities and cooperative projects.
