The safety and the wellbeing of the clients are of most importance in the counseling field. Researchers are accountable for the well-being of their subjects and must refrain from inflicting them mental, physical, or social harm, as stated in the 2014 American Counseling Association (ACA) Code of Ethics . Counselors are accountable to their clients for their participation throughout the research process, and they are urged to adopt safety measures to shield their clients from the potential consequences of withdrawing from the study at any moment. Working with a population that lacks the capacity to give consent, such as children or the disabled, and making sure their study doesn't hurt their clients are two challenges that spring to mind (ACA,2014). It's crucial to take the following things into account when working with children. The advantages, drawbacks, and age of the kids as well as their capacity to comprehend the purpose of their involvement. Prior to the research project, agreement from both the children and their parents/guardians is required. If I were a counselor in the future, I would make every effort to provide my clients with all the knowledge they needed, and I would make sure to do so in a way
that was compassionate. When clarification is required, I would supply it, and I wouldn't proceed until my customer is comfortable and gives me permission to.
