How is global health viewed within your profession?
Within my profession, global health is viewed as a study field that foster well-being
and health for every individual across the world. The field aims at enhancing health outcomes
as well as addressing health inequities on a global level. Healthcare providers around the
world participate in service delivery, advocacy, policy, and research and development to
enhance health of communities. Moreover, there is increasing acknowledgement that social
health disparities such as racism, sexism, and poverty play a key role in creating trends of
access to care and ill-health globally. Various global health issues such as non-communicable
diseases and infectious illnesses need multisectoral reactions that involve different fields such
as health, economic development, education, and environmental protection. To be effective
and appropriate, people working on global health issues require to have necessary skills and
competence in interdisciplinary collaboration and cooperation, and managing complex
political aspects. Furthermore, the field of global health has surfaced on recent years to respond to the
growing globalization across the world. With the increasing international trade and travel,
transmission of diseases has increased. Besides, the globalization has resulted in increased
inequality since there are developed and developing countries that vary in many aspects. Such
inequality negatively impacts health, hence the need for global health programs that aim at
promoting collaboration between different organizations and countries to effectively handle
global health issues. World Health Organization is one of the leading entity is the global
health field.

Within your professional practice or global region, what global health concerns are of
highest priority? What efforts are underway to address that issue?
The issue of non-communicable diseases is among the most crucial priorities of global
health across the world. Non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, cancer, dementia, and
cardiovascular diseases lead to many fatalities globally. Therefore, there are efforts to
improve access to healthcare in order to reduce the fatalities. Initiatives such as the World
Health Organization's Universal Health Coverage program aims at ensuring every person
have access to key health services, support and care without facing financial difficulties.
Another effort to address and manage non-communicable diseases is the promotion of
healthy behaviors and lifestyle using campaigns like the 5 A Day that encourages intake of
vegetables and fruits. Besides, there is need to strengthen healthcare systems to better
manage non-communicable diseases. Investing in research and development into the
treatment and prevention of non-communicable diseases will play a key role in managing
them. From your perspective, how might interprofessional, intersectoral, and international
colleagues collaborate to address non-communicable health concerns worldwide?
Interprofessional, intersectoral, and international can colleagues collaborate to address
non-communicable health concerns worldwide through various ways. One approach to
address the issue is through exchanging and sharing best practices and expertise. For
example, healthcare professionals from different countries can share knowledge about
effective therapies and approaches for non-communicable diseases. By learning from one
another, healthcare providers will improve the treatment quality for individuals with such
conditions. Moreover, coordinating and collaborating throughout research projects in crucial
in managing non-communicable diseases. For example, scientists from various countries can

collaborate on studies exploring the causes and risk factors of non-communicable diseases,
and creating new treatments and drugs for them. Through such collaboration, they will be
able to combine their expertise and resources in managing the issue. In addition, it is vital to take into account the global aspect when tackling non-
communicable diseases. Different nations have varied levels of capacity and resources to
handle the diseases. Therefore, apart from sharing best practices and knowledge with one
another, there is need for financial assistance to countries lacking resources and capacity to
effectively manage the diseases. Furthermore, health agencies should advocate for policies
that will help in reducing burden of non-communicable diseases. Hence, collaborating can
make a significant differences in the managing non-communicable diseases. Compare and Contrast
The outcomes from my interview process are consistent and similar to those of my
colleagues’ interviews. All our interviews agrees on the pivotal role of global health is
delivering care and treatment to people. However, our findings are different since we
interviewed people from different professions. I interviewed a person in the global health
field. The different viewpoints from our respondents facilitated our understanding on how
different fields view and approach global health issues.
