2 Reflection Two How is global health viewed within your profession? Within my profession, global health is viewed as a study field that foster well-being and health for every individual across the world. The field aims at enhancing health outcomes as well as addressing health inequities on a global level. Healthcare providers around the world participate in service delivery, advocacy, policy, and research and development to enhance health of communities. Moreover, there is increasing acknowledgement that social health disparities such as racism, sexism, and poverty play a key role in creating trends of access to care and ill-health globally. Various global health issues such as non-communicable diseases and infectious illnesses need multisectoral reactions that involve different fields such as health, economic development, education, and environmental protection. To be effective and appropriate, people working on global health issues require to have necessary skills and competence in interdisciplinary collaboration and cooperation, and managing complex political aspects. Furthermore, the field of global health has surfaced on recent years to respond to the growing globalization across the world. With the increasing international trade and travel, transmission of diseases has increased. Besides, the globalization has resulted in increased inequality since there are developed and developing countries that vary in many aspects. Such inequality negatively impacts health, hence the need for global health programs that aim at promoting collaboration between different organizations and countries to effectively handle global health issues. World Health Organization is one of the leading entity is the global health field.
3 Within your professional practice or global region, what global health concerns are of highest priority? What efforts are underway to address that issue? The issue of non-communicable diseases is among the most crucial priorities of global health across the world. Non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, cancer, dementia, and cardiovascular diseases lead to many fatalities globally. Therefore, there are efforts to improve access to healthcare in order to reduce the fatalities. Initiatives such as the World Health Organization's Universal Health Coverage program aims at ensuring every person have access to key health services, support and care without facing financial difficulties. Another effort to address and manage non-communicable diseases is the promotion of healthy behaviors and lifestyle using campaigns like the 5 A Day that encourages intake of vegetables and fruits. Besides, there is need to strengthen healthcare systems to better manage non-communicable diseases. Investing in research and development into the treatment and prevention of non-communicable diseases will play a key role in managing them. From your perspective, how might interprofessional, intersectoral, and international colleagues collaborate to address non-communicable health concerns worldwide? Interprofessional, intersectoral, and international can colleagues collaborate to address non-communicable health concerns worldwide through various ways. One approach to address the issue is through exchanging and sharing best practices and expertise. For example, healthcare professionals from different countries can share knowledge about effective therapies and approaches for non-communicable diseases. By learning from one another, healthcare providers will improve the treatment quality for individuals with such conditions. Moreover, coordinating and collaborating throughout research projects in crucial in managing non-communicable diseases. For example, scientists from various countries can

4 collaborate on studies exploring the causes and risk factors of non-communicable diseases, and creating new treatments and drugs for them. Through such collaboration, they will be able to combine their expertise and resources in managing the issue. In addition, it is vital to take into account the global aspect when tackling non- communicable diseases. Different nations have varied levels of capacity and resources to handle the diseases. Therefore, apart from sharing best practices and knowledge with one another, there is need for financial assistance to countries lacking resources and capacity to effectively manage the diseases. Furthermore, health agencies should advocate for policies that will help in reducing burden of non-communicable diseases. Hence, collaborating can make a significant differences in the managing non-communicable diseases. Compare and Contrast The outcomes from my interview process are consistent and similar to those of my colleagues’ interviews. All our interviews agrees on the pivotal role of global health is delivering care and treatment to people. However, our findings are different since we interviewed people from different professions. I interviewed a person in the global health field. The different viewpoints from our respondents facilitated our understanding on how different fields view and approach global health issues.
