2 Introductions and Knowledge Exploration The health threat that will be examined is non-communicable diseases (NCDs) like cardiovascular conditions and diabetes in the United States and India. Non-communicable diseases account for 3.8 million deaths every year in most American states, illustrating ¾ of all deaths (PAHO, 2011). A projected 200 million individuals in the Americas are residing with NCDs, which has a great effect on their life, health, and ability to work. In India, about 5.7 million citizens succumb to non-communicable diseases annually in other words, 2 in 5 Indians has a risk of succumbing to an NCD prior to attaining the age of 70. There are interventions that will be employed to address non-communicable illnesses as a health threat from a nursing perspective. The first strategy is enhancing awareness and education through public education campaigns in order to surge and facilitate clinical data. The second intervention involves assessing and screening for new instances in society at the doorstep level, as well as delivering treatment at an early stage. The third stage is to discourage risky conduct such as tobacco smoking, excessive alcohol use, and lack of regular exercise. The fourth phase is to educate the public on the use of the Trans-theoretical model of health behavior change. A disorder management program will be implemented; nurse scholars will administer evidence-based strategies and nurses will be able to reshape health systems through people- oriented medical care. Furthermore, organizing and appointing nurse forces to impact the long- term alteration in people’s health and security. The three questions that I would like for more data on before I make a recommendation include: Firstly, what is the most pervasive non- communicable disorder that creates the greatest death rate in the country? Secondly, is there any education offered to decrease the chances of developing non-communicable disorders? Thirdly,
3 which are the specific states/regions in the U.S. and India have the greatest prevalence of the non-communicable disorders.
