How does this eruption testify to the awesomeness of the earth and the God who created it? Your answer must be at least one paragraph in length. Mt. Saint Helens erupted on May 18, 1980. It is one of the largest volcanic explosions recorded in North America. It started in March of 1980 with a series of earthquakes under the southwest corner of the mountain. On the morning of the 18th of May 1980, A 5.1 Magnitude earthquake was recorded underneath the mountain. Shortly after the earthquake about 15 seconds surpassed and the entire north slope started to slide down the mountain. The movement of the north slope allowed the blast to travel outwards instead of a vertical blast. The eruption lasted for over nine hours and the vertical ash cloud still was able to reach over 24KM or 78,748 feet into the atmosphere. The landslide was moving around 80KM/HR or about 50MPH and cause an 820-foot tsunami at Spirit Lake. Many homes, and bridges were destroyed and 57 people lost their lives to the eruption. The volcanic eruption of Mt. St. Helens in 1980 destroyed 390 square Kilometers of natural habitat area which killed most of the animals and vegetation. Much of the land was sterilized by hot pyroclastic ±ows reaching well over 1292 degrees Fahrenheit. Many scientists opined that was this area would take decades, if not centuries, to recover from the damage. But to the surprise, within a year, plants began to grow, and animals returned and lived there. This shows the true awesomeness of God and that all thigs are possible through him.
