Life is unpredictable, we never know what is going to happen, but we all hope for the best, right?
Growing up from childhood to young adulthood life has had its ups and downs, especially having
to grow up early and what I mean by this is having to take on responsibility at a youthful age
even though it was something I did not want to take on, but it made me the person that I am
today which I am forever thankful for, I will say that I have not had a midlife crisis yet because I
have not reached that age in my life just yet. Do I think I would have a midlife crisis? I cannot
predict the future so who knows what might happen a few years down the line.
I will say that I have been through a few milestones and obstacles in my life and watching my
mother struggle in the past and having to take on responsibility for my younger siblings and
make sure they had what they needed when my mother could not do it for us I took on the role to
step up to the plate and help as much as I could being young and having to these types of things
made me feel very mature for my age because I was just an adolescent doing adult like actions
but I did not mind it because I was doing something good and helping my mother.
I have seen older family members enter a midlife crisis so many changes happen mentally,
psychically, and so much more I will say it can really change a person and even the way that a
person starts to think as they continue to age, when I see adults go through midlife crisis it scares
me in a way because it makes me think to myself life will I go through the same thing? Life is
scary and the fact that everything is so unexpected that what makes life scary, but life is short

which is why we should live our days like it is our last because life is beautiful and changes that
occur in life is all a part of growth and change, we must adapt to it and continue to live on. During the midlife crisis stage so many changes will occur such as hearing, seeing and other
changes can happen most as well and when these changes happen it can make an adult feel a
different feeling which could be a positive or negative outcome which can go either way most
can suffer from depression because of these changes, midlife crisis aren't always negative and
most of the time people can still experience so much in their life it isn't the end of the road for
them most adults still push through and try new things that could increase good health and just
being more active in their life by changing up their daily routines and much more.
A midlife crisis is something that is going to happen in all our lives no matter what, but most
importantly moral development is especially important because it allows us to understand the
different changes throughout adulthood.

“Kohlberg argued that family processes are essentially unimportant in children’s moral
development. Like Piaget, he argued that parent-child relationships usually provide children with
little opportunity for give-and-take or perspective taking because of power relationships. Rather,
Kohlberg said that such opportunities are more likely to be provided by children’s peer
relationships. However, most experts on children’s moral development conclude that parents’
moral values and actions influence children’s development of moral reasoning (Laible & others,
2020; Narváez, 2020; Padilla-Walker & Memmott-Elison, 2020). They stress that parents’
responsiveness, communication, disciplinary techniques, and many other aspects of parent-child
relationships influence children’s moral development (Lansford, 2020; Thompson, 2020).
Nonetheless, most developmentalists agree with Kohlberg and Piaget that peers play an
important role in the development of moral reasoning. In sum, Kohlberg’s theory was a very
important pioneering effort in describing and understanding the development of moral reasoning
and to some degree still somewhat relevant in understanding the development of moral
reasoning. However, as indicated by criticisms of the theory, the theory is no longer as influential
as it once was. Let’s now examine other views on moral development.”
Moral development will occur throughout our lives after reviewing the section on personality
theories and adult development on Erikson’s seven stages of the human lifespan and how
changes happen. “Middle adulthood is a time when individuals experience Erikson’s seventh life-span stage,
generativity versus stagnation. During this stage, it is important for middle-aged adults to

contribute in meaningful ways to the next generation. In Levinson’s theory, one of the key
conflicts of middle age involves coping with the young-old polarity in life. Midlife crises are not
as common as many people assume, but when they occur, negative life events usually are
involved. A number of longitudinal studies of stability and change in adult development have
been conducted, and recently it has been argued that stability peaks in middle adulthood.
Affectionate love increases in middle age. Many middle-aged adults become grandparents.
Middle-aged women especially play an important role in connecting generations.”
Overall with the midlife crisis that Our parents, grandparents have gone through we can learn so
much from them ahead of our time because we can actually see for ourselves the changes that
they will go through before we actually go through it ourselves I am sure in the future I will
experience a midlife crisis but it is all a part of life so it is bound to happen and It is up to us
what we choose to do with our lives moving forward it will happen in every generation we must
maintain a healthy lifestyle in order to stay mentally and physically good our life challenges and
changes that we’ve been through in our lifetime only shaped us to the be the person who we were
meant to become it’s a part of life we just have to continue to live.
