After Action Report: Thesis Statement After Action Report In this report I will be reviewing assets, opportunities, lesson, homework plans, progress made, and future plans. First off I want to say I have never excelled in English, and I've considered it to be one of my weak areas. Saying that statement I'm soaking all the information up like a sponge and hope to learn as much as I can from English 101. I was mature in the structure of my sentences, which that's one of the details I pay most attention to when I'm writing . MLA format is one of the easiest formats for me, because in high school MLA was the only format we used. Also, using the textbook for English 101 helps me verify that my work is correct. The APUS library is a saving grace when it comes to finding sources for papers, because they are up to academic standards. For the correctness of my papers I always read over my papers at least three times. My thesis statement was weak because it was a statement and it was not functional in ...show more content... I have reviewed these two sites and feel as if I have a better understanding already how to conduct a strong thesis statement. Resources http://public.wsu.edu/~campbelld/topic.htm and http://academicguides.waldenu.edu/writingcenter/paragraphs/topicsentences have made it clear the importance if good topic sentences, and I will continue to check these two sites for future papers. Resources that have advanced my learning on how to build a title are http://www.wheaton.edu/Academics/Faculty/D/Jeffry–Davis/guidance/Ten–Ways–to–Improve– Your– Paper and http://www.editage.com/insights/3–basic–tips–on–writing–a–good–research–paper– title I have made progress already in week four of class by understanding how to build a strong thesis statement, and I will continue to check messages, comments, textbook and outside Get more content on StudyHub.Vip
Resume Reflection This was a mock resumé that I created in my 12th grade AP english class. The resumé was used as a practice for when we need to create them for professional jobs later in life. We were asked to create a resumé in a standard format and include information about ourselves that would make a potential hiring manager want to pick us. I highlighted all of my achievements and my academic successes, as well as including my interests and contact information. This project helped me understand the proper way to write a resumé, and helped me learn how to focus on my strengths. Before doing this project, I really didn't know how to format a resumé, nor did I fully know what went into it. This benefited me significantly, and now I feel confident that I Get more content on StudyHub.Vip

Describe Myself As A Student Describe yourself as a student and also your aspirations for the future. Please include examples from your personal academic and non–academic experiences. A sophomore at Downtown Magnets High School, I demonstrate passion in my education, ambition in fulfilling my personal and academic goals, and am an explorative student. My passion for learning is the result of my mindset, in that aside from finding education a necessity, it is enjoyable, challenging, and beneficial in fulfilling my future aspirations. For example, I find my Honors Advanced Mathematics class my most unique course. It builds upon my ability to critically think, present data or information, and understand higher–level math at a rapid pace. In particular, it is the ability to solve real–world situations and the underlying mystery mathematicians have yet to solve that intrigues me to continue learning. The class expects much of me, but I am aware that it is preparing me for college– and university–level math while providing me with the skills to pursue a career in Architectural/ Structural Engineering . Ambitious, I set objectives for myself and arrange to accomplish and excel in the process. For instance, I participated in my middle school's academic decathlon with a chance to represent my school in the mathematics single–subject exam. In doing so, I attempted to score a near perfect to perfect score. While the competition did not end the way I expected, I successfully gained a flawless score on the questions Get more content on StudyHub.Vip

Advantages And Disadvantages Of APA Writing Style 1. I think that having formatting standards such as APA is very necessary and useful for a clear communication. When we use an editorial style, we remove the distraction of puzzling over the correct punctuation for a reference or the proper form for numbers in text. An author writing for a publication must follow the rules established by the publisher to avoid inconsistencies among journal articles or book chapters. For example, without rules of style, three different manuscripts might use sub–categories, subcategories, and Subcategories in one issue of a journal or book. Although the meaning of the word is the same (in this case, subcategories is APA Style), such variations in style may distract or confuse the reader. To sum up the need for a consistent style becomes more apparent when complex material is presented, such as tables or statistics. 2. There are advantages and disadvantages in using an APA style. Let's start with benefits: One major advantage of the APA writing style is that it encourages direct exposition of your research and emphasizes your original ideas being reported. This precision is complemented by a straightforward manuscript structure that includes a title page, abstract, body, reference list and, if applicable, appendices. Also, APA citations include a brief reference in the body of your text paired with a full citation in your reference list. Citations within the text should list last name of the author and that author's publication date, followed by a page number if the citation involves a direct quotation. In addition, the APA writing and citation style ensures you are giving adequate credit to others for prior work and allows the reader to easily track your references. What is more adopting the APA writing style guarantees that both the structure of your paper and the format of your citations are consistent throughout. The clarity of your writing along with a precise citation format works to establish your credibility, and it reflects the extent of your research. On the other side the drawbacks in using such a style are: Firstly, the APA manual has a rule for just about every aspect of writing. You will find instructions for the technical aspects of constructing a paper, Get more content on StudyHub.Vip
APA Style Analysis APA Style Sample APA (American Psychological Association) style is primarily used in the social science disciplines. It is formatted like MLA, and shows many similarities, but is unique in several key points. APA uses parenthetical (or in–text) citations within sentences, but rather than indicating the author's name and page number, APA includes author's name and date of publication. The page number, represented with a p. or a pp., is only added to the citation when using a direct quote (not a summary or paraphrase). If the author's name is mentioned in the sentence , then place the date of publication in parentheses directly after the name. If the name is ...show more content... All of the interviewees have been called 'exceptions to the norm' (Strong & Porter, 1998, p. 565). Note the first example paraphrases an author that is named in the sentence, the second example paraphrases authors that are not named in the sentence, and the third example provides a direct quote (thus the inclusion of the page numbers) but also does not identify the authors within the sentence. If the authors were identified within the sentence in the third example, the authors' names would be followed by the year of publication and only the page numbers would be in the parentheses at the end of the quote. Finally, the bibliographic page in APA style differs from MLA, what APA calls the Reference page. You will notice a few immediate differences from the MLA Works Cited format. With APA you include the initial of the author's first name rather than the complete name, the publication date immediately follows the author's name in parentheses, and titles of articles are not surrounded with quotation marks (however titles of books, magazines, journals, etc are still underlined). The lists are still alphabetized by author's last name (or title in the absence of an author) and the first line is flush

Customer Service Essay examples Companies are misguided nowadays by the notion that customers depend on them, when the truth of the matter is that companies are dependent on those customers. Customer satisfaction and customer loyalty is now essential for a business or company to survive. So what is the difference between customer satisfaction and customer loyalty and how to companies and or business achieve this? Also when you have difficult customers how do you achieve customer satisfaction? It's essential that companies or businesses today listen to their customers. No company or business today can afford to disregard the importance of customer satisfaction and loyalty. Aren't they the same thing? No, they are absolutely not and they are enormously ...show more content... Customer loyalty is much harder to obtain that customer service satisfaction. The most important first step is to satisfy the customer by meeting their expectations. Customers only give a company one chance and if they aren't satisfied they will not do business with that company again, as well as tell others of their experience. The next step would be to exceed the customer's expectations. If a business goes above and beyond to assist the customer they begin to build loyalty. The next step is to truly surprise the customer. In order to dominate the marketplace the company must find a way to make them selves stand out with their product or service, accompanied with phenomenal customer service. Once this has been done customer satisfaction and loyalty will be gained. "Acquiring a new customer can cost four or five times more than keeping a current customer" (Bestmark, 2013). So it's essential to keep the current customer's happy and coming back for more. Some of the ways that businesses can build loyalty would be by offering loyalty programs, Interacting with customers, surveys, creating institutional ties, and personalized marketing . Another way to build loyalty is to treat your employees so well that they treat your customers well. If you have happy employees they will treat your customers happy. "The link between satisfaction and loyalty however is not proportional" (Kotler, Keller, 2009, p71), so businesses must Get more content on StudyHub.Vip

Critique Essay Examples Critique Essay of Process and Learning Out of all the projects for this course, I think the critique paper was the hardest because it challenged how I thought about scientific journals when it came to identifying weak parts of a study and how to critique the strengths and weaknesses within those articles in a scientific manner. As a result, my writing process was affected by this in depth look into each of the three articles I chose on stroke rehabilitation with a focus on virtual reality, and my understanding of science writing grew with this paper . For the proposal between my partner, Alicia Buettner, and I, we decided to find something that related to each of our health profession majors. Our research for the proposal revealed the importance of occupational and physical therapists working together in the field and the changing technology in prostheses within rehabilitation treatment. With both topics in mind, we chose to have our proposal addressing the need for occupational therapy (OT) and physical therapy (PT) students working together in a class at the University of Findlay that also focused on prostheses. After deciding on a topic for our proposal, the next step in the writing process was following the break down for each section of the proposal that you, the professor, provided our peers and us in the classroom. By discussing the content required for each of the sections in the proposal and the correct formats we were to be using during class time, my partner and I were able to gain a grasp on what you were requiring from our proposal. For example, Alicia and I spent a great deal of time looking over the notes we wrote down from the board to make sure we were following the correct guidelines for each section. The mini assignments also helped in reassuring that Alicia and I were on the correct path for the proposal. With each Get more content on StudyHub.Vip

Sample Of Admission Essay For High School My whole life I have been invested in doing what I love, focusing on my true passions, as well as finding new ones. I have been very involved in my high school, and have been lucky enough to be a part of multiple clubs and activities. Without these activities, my high school experience and life would be a lot different. I have been an active drama club member, a part of 'Bottlecappers,' a club advocating anti–drug, alcohol, and bullying to younger students in my district, and many other community service opportunities. I am lucky to have the opportunity to be in these activities, as they have shaped me to be the young adult I am today. Before I even entered high school , I obtained a love of theater and the performing arts. I have been singing and acting since I was nine, as well as on and off dancing since three. Taking classes at a local theater really introduced me to this interest of mine. When I entered high school , an injury kept me from doing shows. But now I graduate with nine high school shows under my belt, as well as being in multiple community theater productions. Another community activity I enjoy doing is related to performing, but at senior citizen homes. Some of my friends and I often just like to get together with some music and go sing for them. This is a rewarding experience, as seeing the senior citizens smile, and making their day better, is truly a heartwarming experience every time I have the chance to perform for Get more content on StudyHub.Vip

A Sample of Phenomenological Paper My Thrifty Girlfriend: A Phenomenological Paper I have a girlfriend who has been my blockmate for almost four years. We've been together for three months now. I can say that her family belongs to upper–middle class–her father is working for the United Nations, earning USD8000 per month and her mother works as a tutor for toddlers. She was actually my close friend before we dated. Before we became couple last April, I actually observed (and from her friends' stories) that she was really really 'thrifty' with her money. Her friends would usually tease her because she would usually opt to eat her own baon whenever they eat in restaurants in Katipunan instead of ordering food. I also got irritated with her once because of her complaints ...show more content... Nonetheless, should I be angry with her? Being her girlfriend, I'm supposed to understand and accept her fully. Why did I judge her as being cheap and indecent just because she buys her pants in Divisoria? Why should I be angry about her not taking me to dinner? Why didn't I, being the one who was so hungry, invite her then? Then I thought, maybe the problem is in me. Unlike her, we have this lifestyle of 'spending'. We are not rich but my mom would usually do anything to provide for what we need and want. She feels hurt whenever she can't give what we are asking for. Unlike her, I came from a family of politicians. My lolo has served our province for quite some time as a governor. My mom was a board member for two terms. We grew up entertaining guests and serving them food while they wait for Mama to attend to their concerns. Unlike her, money is not my priority. I mean, yes it's nice to save but not to the extent that I will exclude myself from enjoying life and make myself look woe. This is something really different with her upbringing. Maybe, I was irritated with her simply because she is different. She's living an independent life while I want to depend on her. I realized maybe it has something to do with my expectations. I expect her to be generous to me, to take good care of me because those are my ideals for a partner. Economically speaking, they are rich than my family. They Get more content on StudyHub.Vip

Reflective Letter Sample I'm writing this letter to tell you about my learning outcomes and experiences in your class. Let me start off by saying that 2017 has been the worst year of my life. Nothing went the way I wanted it to. I experienced so many different things and had been in so many wild situations. I had started losing sight of who I was as a young man which scared me. Until, your English 101 class. This class is one of the highlights of this whole year. I have learned so many things about myself in this class and it changed my overall perspective of life. I am a better me in all aspects especially mentally. Plus, I have developed my writing skills and became a better writer overall. I have changed so much as a writer throughout this quarter in your class. For example, coming into your class my conclusion was horrible and I knew it was because teachers told me this in the past, but never really told me how to fix it. Until you finally told me when writing your conclusion ask yourself "So What". This helped me so much and it shows on assignments like the Autoethnography. Like you always say, "If you know better, you do better". The biggest reason my writing skills have improved is because of the amount of writing we do in your class. I have written more papers in this class in one quarter than I have written in 4 quarters in my Honors English class last year. Crazy right? The fact of the matter is that practice makes perfect. The more I practice something the more flaws I will catch and Get more content on StudyHub.Vip

Perspectives Essay examples Perspectives Life Span & Introduction to Sociology PSYC–2314–S03 In class we have been discussing the analogy of perspectives. A perspective is a way of seeing, also thought of as a 'point of view'. This mental view or outlook can both enhance and constrain how we view the world in our own eyes. In the field of psychology and sociology there are many ways to perceive our world in which we live. No one perspective alone can define the world. Each perspective has its own distinctive strengths and blind spots. In class we have discussed different theories and analogies to better understand the complexity of perspectives. Perspectives will both facilitate and constrain perception. A good example of this statement is the Burke ...show more content... Even when that one perspective may not be the most accurate way of viewing something in a particular situation, it can be tempting neglect other perspectives or "tools". The example given in class was Freud and his psychosexual theories. Freud believed that everything we did was a result of our sexual desires. Freud's only "tool", or perspective, was this belief , and he used it when viewing everything, even when it may have not been the best "tool for the job". Most of us have heard the term "seeing is believing", but in class we discussed that "believing is seeing". When you already believe something and have an idea implanted in your memory it will alter what you think you are seeing. In class we observed many slides of different pictures portraying how believing is seeing. One specific example from the slide show was one image that contained two completely different pictures depending on how you looked at the picture. Before showing us the image for the first time the pervious slide stated "Cowboys Crossing the Creek". When the image appeared you automatically saw cowboys on horses crossing a creek. Then we were shown a slide stating "Faces Everywhere". This time when the same exact image was shown for the second time, you saw faces everywhere in the image. This is because you already had an idea placed in your mind causing you to see what you already believe. Referring to the familiar Get more content on StudyHub.Vip

Essay on Analysis of a Leaflet Analysis of a Leaflet o All of the information on the leaflet has been designed in such a manner so that it is easy to read and retains the readers' attention. The information has been well–spaced, condensed into a few lines so that there is not an over–indulgence in unnecessary details and bullet points have been used to condense the information and present it readable chunks, so that the target audience remains interested and are not forced to read a heavy text. o Direct language is featured in the leaflet (e.g. "You" and "Are you Magistrate Material?) to address the reader and engage their attention. This is effective as it adds a personal touch, thus, is more appealing to the reader. The target audience is also appealed to as many of the people who are featured in the quotations are from ethnic minorities. Personal Self Assessment Essay Self assessment is a process in which you examine yourself in attempt to discover and learn more about yourself. Your likes, dislikes, behaviors, attitudes and habits can be found during this process. You can use the discoveries to your advantage by accepting or changing strengths and weaknesses. I plan on using this course to enhance my personal skills to become a better student and find success in earning my Bachelor of Arts degree at Ashford University in Social Science. I also like to keep a written list of things to do to refer to. I am comfortable with my learning style, accepted it as my very own. I am not sure if changing it this late in life is such a good idea. I have got by this far, it must work out for me. I have identified my personality style as being extroverted, one who becomes easily energized by others, and outwardly expressing thoughts as long as I am fully understanding context and material being discussed. This product is maid up of two components being the chip and GPRS receiver. The microchip is a passive device and hence contains no internal power source. The chip contains an inductor and a capacitor. The silicon chip contains the identification number plus electronic circuits to transmit information to the receiver. The inductor acts as a radio antenna and is ready to receive electrical power from the receiver. The combination of the inductor and capacitor acts as a tuner. The receiver presents an inductive field that excites the coil and charges the capacitor, which in turn energises and powers the IC. The IC then transmits the data via the coil to the receiver. The chip is encased in a biocompatible glass made from soda lime, and hermetically sealed to prevent any moisture or fluid entering the unit. That year I promised myself to push through all the six mile runs, sore legs, gnarly blisters, and at times, lack of oxygen. At every meet and speed workout practice I pushed myself further and further. I set a goal every time I kicked off from the starting line and never let myself get discouraged when I failed. By my senior year, I was the fourth fastest runner on varsity. That year our varsity team won the district meet, which qualified us to run in the 2016 state meet in Oregon. The transformation over the years were evident. My determination to accomplish my goal of becoming a faster runner was complete. If I had simply just given up that first day of practice, I wouldn't have ran along side of the fastest runners in Oregon or have met the multitude of people that are now my closest friends. Having a goal sets one up for a challenge, whether it being physically or mentally, goals keep us active and thinking in more ways than one. Still, if someone has self–control, confidence, and a goal, they are still not complete. Growth mindset is the cone to an ice cream. It is the foundation of what I think a successful person is. Without it one couldn't use the characteristics mentioned above in more ways than one. Someone with a growth mindset believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work, brains and talent are just the starting point.
