1. What did the instructor in the video do differently because the source was more
complicated?
The difference between what the instructor did and what I did in my previous module is that he
used a different approach which seemed to be complex but successful. This is contrary to my
approach where I went direct to read the source the started planning or filling TAAPO and IDEA
chart directly. Also, when reviewing the source, the instructor first read few lines of the article
and then evaluated the idea which is different to what I did as I concentrated to reading the whole
article then analyzing the idea thereafter.
2. What part of the writing strategy or what resource do you think helped most in
navigating the article and planning for this summary-response paper?
The first part of the writing strategy helped me greatly to understand how I can approach any
given source to review. This is whereby the instructor showed how to logically follow the
procedure starting with own idea, understanding what others say and then integrating ideas from
source with own ideas. I also, learned that it is good to first fill the argument graphic organizer
first before undertaking TAAPO. It is essential to always ensure you have read and understood
the entire article to make good planning.
