The Nature Of Customer Service Work
Experience The nature of customer service work is such that employers often place a higher value
on a candidate 's experience than on formal education. Data shows that 30 percent of customer
service reps have between six and 10 years of experience in the field, while 19 percent have between
11 and 15 years experience, and 18 percent have been working in customer service for three to five
years. About 25 percent of customer service reps have been in the field for more than 15 years,
while only nine percent have less than five years ' experience. These numbers confirm that
experience is valued in customer service rep positions, and once you have established yourself in the
field, there are ample opportunities to continue in a related job for years to come if you so choose.
Skills Customer service reps need to have a varied skill set in order to adapt to the every–changing
demands of the job. Here are some of the skills employers look for in prospective reps: Software
skills CRM software – Reps may use customer relationship management (CRM) software to access
and log information. Call center software – Phone support is often provided via a voice–over–IP
(VoIP) system, which connects to a call center software solution used by reps to keep a record of
each call. Ticketing platform – Email and chat support is routed through a system that assigns a
ticket to each request and then prioritizes and assigns tickets to reps. Social media –

My Experience In English Writing
English is a core concept in the Untied States and other countries that has allowed inviduals to
advance their knowledge. Not only does English provide an advancement in knowlege, but has
created a way for individuals to share their thoughts and feelings through writing. Which is why
English is one of the four subjects that is required to be taught in almost every school district in
America including mine. I began taking English from a young age which allowed me to take
advanced placement English IV my senior year at Tupelo High School
. Advanced Placement
English IV allowed me to further my education in writing
, which in return allowed me to overcome
obstacles, low points and discover strengths I never knew I had. Like any other thing in life there are
always obstacles individuals face everyday, for me in my English IV class writing was something
that was very challenging. The first challenge writing presented to me was trying to organize all of
my thoughts, so that it made sense. The first essay I ever wrote in my English class was a journal
entry about a memorable experience, so with that being said I decided I would write about the
experience I had while hunting with my Dad. The hunting experience with my dad had many
different parts, and one of my biggest challenges I had was organizing my thoughts, so that it flowed
correctly. Since I was telling a story within my journal I realized that I was jumping around more
then I should have and this became a problem. I learned

Resume Reflection
This was a mock resumé that I created in my 12th grade AP english class. The resumé was used as a
practice for when we need to create them for professional jobs later in life. We were asked to create
a resumé in a standard format and include information about ourselves that would make a potential
hiring manager want to pick us. I highlighted all of my achievements and my academic successes, as
well as including my interests and contact information. This project helped me understand the
proper way to write a resumé, and helped me learn how to focus on my strengths. Before doing this
project, I really didn't know how to format a resumé, nor did I fully know what went into it. This
benefited me significantly, and now I feel confident that I

The Meaning of Service Essay
The Meaning of Service
Service is a word used constantly. The word service has an impression on many people. For
example; people who work as lifeguards view their work as a service to the community. Naturally,
based on working as a lifeguard their definition of service would be an action beneficial to the well–
being of others. Not surprisingly, a similar definition was found in the Oxford English Dictionary
(OED). Service is described in the Oxford English Dictionary as "the action of serving, helping, or
benefiting; conduct tending to the welfare or advantage of another; condition or employment of a
public servant
; friendly or professional assistance." Furthermore, in Webster's Ninth New Collegiate
Dictionary, service is

A service berry is "any one of various American trees or shrubs of the genus Amelanchier"
(Dictionary of Americanisms). The second definition was one many may not have recognized right
away. Service is "public worship according to form and order" (OED). After people read this they
think, of course! People are always saying "are you going to attend service on Sunday?" Many
immediately think the word service means providing for another and completely forget by attending
mass they are performing a service to a higher being.
Becoming so firmly planted in one definition of service people tend to ignore its other uses. A strong
attachment to one definition or another can be attributed to working as a lifeguard or work with
other programs like YouVote. With YouVote, participants are helping and benefitting others by
providing them with information important to upcoming elections. By providing people with
information it helps them along their way to making an educated decision when they vote. Working
with YouVote has helped to extend the definition of service to all persons who help or serve others
like; waitresses, teachers, lifeguards, doctors, lawyers, coaches, and the government. The
government continuously provides "service" to our country, or at least they try. The many readings
in WRA135 class have shown the government needs to provide more service to those in need like all
those living below the poverty line and/or on

My Experience At The Hotel
These days, there have been a number of hotels in various cities, towns and countries. From when I
was young to now, I have visited many inns since I loved to travel to somewhere. I had any feeling
and impression about hotels where I have been before I became eighteen years old. Hotels were just
hotels that I needed to stay for the night. No more than that I thought. Before I went to Canada to
study English in 2011, my family had a plan to travel somewhere and stay in a hotel for my farewell
in Korea. After we visited many attractions, we were heading to the hotel that we made a
reservation. When I saw the entrance of the hotel, I was surprised at first, and when we went inside
of the hotel, I was surprised again. For two days, I was very impressed and I thought a lot in positive
ways. I always had a desire to visit again and I wanted to get a hotel like that inn
. It was the first
time for me to know what I want to become. The trip to the hotel was totally changed my life and
my dream.
When we arrived at the hotel, a man, who looked a staff, did valet parking service for us, and we
moved to the desk to get a card key. We certainly checked in and we followed the guide of one of
the employees. He let my family get in a cart, and he guided us to our room where we reserved
before we came here. While going there, small waterfall and many various flowerpots welcomed us.
I could see that our room was being close to us, which was designed as a modern building. When we

Customer Service Essay examples
Companies are misguided nowadays by the notion that customers depend on them, when the truth of
the matter is that companies are dependent on those customers. Customer satisfaction and customer
loyalty is now essential for a business or company to survive. So what is the difference between
customer satisfaction and customer loyalty and how to companies and or business achieve this? Also
when you have difficult customers how do you achieve customer satisfaction?
It's essential that companies or businesses today listen to their customers. No company or business
today can afford to disregard the importance of customer satisfaction and loyalty. Aren't they the
same thing? No, they are absolutely not and they are enormously
...show more content...
Customer loyalty is much harder to obtain that customer service satisfaction. The most important
first step is to satisfy the customer by meeting their expectations. Customers only give a company
one chance and if they aren't satisfied they will not do business with that company again, as well as
tell others of their experience. The next step would be to exceed the customer's expectations. If a
business goes above and beyond to assist the customer they begin to build loyalty. The next step is
to truly surprise the customer. In order to dominate the marketplace the company must find a way to
make them selves stand out with their product or service, accompanied with phenomenal customer
service. Once this has been done customer satisfaction and loyalty will be gained. "Acquiring a new
customer can cost four or five times more than keeping a current customer" (Bestmark, 2013). So
it's essential to keep the current customer's happy and coming back for more.
Some of the ways that businesses can build loyalty would be by offering loyalty programs,
Interacting with customers, surveys, creating institutional ties, and personalized marketing
. Another
way to build loyalty is to treat your employees so well that they treat your customers well. If you
have happy employees they will treat your customers happy. "The link between satisfaction and
loyalty however is not proportional" (Kotler, Keller, 2009, p71), so businesses must

My Experience At The Hospitality Industry
The hospitality industry is most definitely the largest industry in the world and is still growing!
There are various different positions within the industry that individuals can pursue, whether it is in
lodging, travel, recreation, assembly and event management, or restaurants and managed services.
My personal interest is in lodging because that entails hotels, motels, and resorts. My ideal position
is to become a resort activities director, at Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort, to be specific.
Now there are many different industries in the workforce to choose from but of them all, I chose the
hospitality industry, mainly because I like to take pride in making people happy. I understand that
guest service is an important goal of the hospitality industry and would love to provide outstanding
service to guests as a career. As Confucius said, "Choose a job you love, and you will never have to
work a day in your life." I believe that I love this industry and that I will never work a day in my
life. One key component factor about the hospitality industry that won me over was that it is an
international industry. There are many different types of hotels and resorts and thousands of hotels
and resorts to seek employment all over the country and all over the world. Not only could I work in
another state or another country, I could work on a cruise ship! In the hospitality industry, it seems
that there are endless career opportunities. In addition, the opportunity to travel has

Essay About My English Class
I can remember seeing that I had to take an English class my first semester of college. I was already
overwhelmed with starting college, and having to write college essays made me get even more
nervous. I sat down with my mom and decided to look at the English classes available, and I finally
decided that I had to take an evening class to make it work in my schedule. The first day of English
came and now looking back it was not as bad as I thought. It made me a better writer and be where I
am today. It may have taken me some time to get where I am today, but at least I am on the right
track. English Composition helped me realize that I am my own author and have strengths that I did
not realize I had. When I first started college I did not know what to expect with an English class. I
liked writing about topics that interested me, but high school did not allow me to do that. I took

I learned many techniques from my professor. He helped me realize that it is okay to have your own
opinion as long as you back it up. He showed me that I am an author when I did not think I was. He
also told us to read our essays out loud when we proofread, and I always did this technique before
submitting all my essays. I can remember having to write my first essay and I was scared, because I
felt like I had to get a good grade. I started thinking about what tools I could use to help me, and I
decided to go to The Learning Center to help with my essay. When I went there they would make
edits to my essay and then explain what I should change. The tutor noticed I used multiple choppy
sentences and commas in spots there should not be. Sometimes I would even go twice to make sure
I did not miss any minor mistakes. Going there helped me feel more confident as a writer and I
learned from my mistakes. I had many helpful techniques from multiple people that shaped me into

Military Customs and Courtesy Essay
Today's Army in an extremely nostalgic organization with a copious amount traditions and has about
a million different methods of conducting its business. Some are old and some are new, but possibly
the oldest one that has been around since before the Army was officially established and still lives
today is the Army's rules, regulations and policies on customs and courtesies. In this form of a
remedial block of instruction given to me, due to what I believe to be false targeting, I am to explain
the Army's customs and courtesies and their importance. Customs and Courtesies are among the
main fundamentals of military life, the other being the Seven Army Values, upon which Soldiers are
expected to live and rely upon both on and off duty.

A leader unwilling to sacrifice individual goals for the good of the unit cannot convince other unit
members to do so. The mission suffers with potentially devastating effects. While personal goals
often coincide with Army goals, there is no room for personal agendas at the expense of the
institution or the American people. It is a standard in the hierarchy of military customs and
courtesies that the leader must display to his subordinates that he is willing to put in extra effort,
sacrifice personal time, and show initiative and motivation in order to achieve the same from his
Soldiers. Tardiness is not tolerated in the military. It reflects inattention to duty. In addition to being
extremely impolite, on active duty, it is punishable under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
Never keep a senior officer waiting because of your forgetfulness or lack of planning. If an
unexpected event delays you, call ahead and give an explanation. The same rule applies to
appointments and meetings you have arranged with subordinates. Don't keep them waiting. If your
subordinates think of you as a "latecomer," you have not set a good example for them. In today's
society, some people resign themselves to just getting by. Because we've been entrusted with our
nation's security and a good portion of the national treasury –– because our mission often involves
the risk of human life and sometimes national survival

Language And Communication Essay
Language is shared among all humans, but it is hardly straightforward. As mentioned in our many
lectures, Ferdinand de Saussure described language as "...series of differences of sound combined
with a series of differences of ideas." As such, there is a linguistic influence on our thoughts.
Language is much more than communicating because it can also be representational on how we
think about ourselves and the world that surrounds us. It is because we use language to express our
thoughts, feelings, and ideas, that these communications shape the process of how we think and feel.
It is something that is continuously evolving over time. Some languages can cease to exist, but new
forms can arrive in their place. This is especially so when two different languages make contact.
However, it's not necessarily the languages themselves making contact, but the people who speak
those languages. The world has a history of people migrating to new places around the globe; people
like explorers and nomads and prisoners and slaves who settle in new lands. Through these travels,
many people from different cultures and languages meet, but how can they communicate
effectively? What if people are forced to live in a place where no one speaks their native tongue? In
these type of situations is what forms a pidgin
, or a kind of language used to facilitate contact and
relationships between persons of two or more languages. Trade and colonization is a critical factor
of when this type of supplemental

Importance of Customer Service Essay example
Importance of Customer Service
Introduction
Today's organizations fail to realize the value of their customers when it comes to the success of
their business. Without customer loyalty the success of your business will always be uncertain.
Organizations must sensitively tailor the designs of a successful firm to the particular challenges of
understanding, attracting, and keeping valuable customers. "Having satisfied customers just aren't
good enough". Kenneth Blanchard and Sheldon Bowles, co–authors of Raving Fans, believe this
concept is needed to have a successful business. I agree with this concept of customers being the
focal point of any business. I would want more than just a satisfied customer; I want a "Raving
Fan".

Discover What the Customer Wants
After creating your vision
, try to discover what the customer wants or what their vision is. The
customer will focus on just one or two things and it will be up to you to fill in the gap with your
vision. You will then pick and choose which ideas you want to use to complete or build up your
vision. Not every idea of the customer will be used or has to be used. Some ideas may not be
feasible or even applicable to what you have envisioned.
Deliver the Vision Plus One Percent
This is where the vision becomes reality; make it happen just as you envisioned it. Work out the
bugs and keep doing what ever it takes to make this vision come alive. Start out with something
small that you know you can maintain and be consistent with it. Once you have mastered that idea,
add to it, make it better by just one percent. Continue to do this with each new idea, always
producing better ideas by one percent. This way the customer is not promised something that you
will not deliver and you're not promising something too big or complex to consistently follow
through with. Consistency is critical; it creates credibility.
Conclusion
I have always believed customers are the focal point of any business. I found that having satisfied

Customer Service Essay
Customer Service
Customer service consists of the various ways in which a business looks after its customer. A
business that wants to provide a comprehensive high quality customer service must be aware of, and
be able to analyse, customer needs, and also to set up systems to ensure that those needs are catered
for from the first enquiry to after–sale service. Customer service consists of a wide range of
activities. The purpose of these is to make sure that customers are happy and will return again and
again. Every business should remember that customers are the factors, which affect demand for the

As the stores success grew so did the branches open up on higher class high streets like in Islington

If they have questions they want them answered right away. They are status conscious and like to be
