REFLEXIVE VERBS IN THE PRESENT PROGRESSIVE
In Gramática A, you learned to use reflexive verbs in the present tense. Reflexive verbs can also be used
in other verb tenses, such as the present progressive.
The present progressive tense (el presente progresivo) expresses an action that is taking place at the
moment you are speaking.
To form the present progressive, conjugate the verb estar in the present tense and place a present
participle immediately after it.
To form the present particple of regular -ar verbs, remove the -ar and add -ando. For regular -er and -ir
verbs, add -iendo.
Paco se está duchando.

Notice that the present participle gets an accent mark (-ándo- / -iéndo-) when the reflexive pronoun is
attached to the end of it.
