Task Description This is an individual assessment. You are required to continually work on same case study, ABC College, in Assessment 1. In this assessment, you will evaluate a WHS management system. You are required to measure the effectiveness of the WHS management system (WHSMS) by analysing the data provided and develop recommendations to be included in an evaluation report. You will then plan for the implementation of your recommendations, including training or induction. Finally you are required to provide the training in your class. Procedure: Review the following documents for ABC College. Your Assessment 1. ABC WHS data ( See Appendix 1 ) Case Study: ABC College You are a senior manager at ABC College. You have implemented your WHS risk management policy and procedures which you have written in Assessment 1. The main needs of ABC College with respect to the proposed system, are: Legal compliance across jurisdictions Safest possible workplace conditions for workers Advertise and demonstrate ABC commitment to WHS. 6 months have now passed, you have decided to check in on progress and determine the success of the program. Data was collected for the 6 month period and presented in ABC WHS data ( See Appendix 1 ). Instructions You will need to analyse the data, plan improvements to the system, plan any required training and provide training. 1. Read and analyse ABC College data. Then develop an evaluation report including the following: a. Recommendations including improvements to record-keeping practices and induction or training b. Justification for recommendations with reference to internal and external requirements, such as WHS legislation, standards, codes of practice. Students will need to describe how recommendations will achieve compliance with particular legislation, codes of practice, standards, etc.The recommendation refers to particular sections of relevant legislation. Students need to plan implementation in accordance with recommendations and legal rationale 2. Develop a WHS action plan (Appendix 2) for the implementation of your recommendations, including the implementation of training/induction recommendations. The action plan should be consistent with recommendations and justification with respect to compliance and adherence to organisational requirements. Student will need to find the main WHS issues by analysing ABC College data such as: Ergonomics Mental health Students will then need to complete a WHS action plan as a plan to implement recommendations. Recommendations could include, for example: changes to reporting procedures training on reporting procedures, basic safety, manual lifting, handling of hazardous substances, safety obligations, forklift operation changes to monitoring and targets. 3. Develop a WHS induction and training program for workers in a work area as part of the organisation’s training program and prepare a PowerPoint presentation (6 -10 slides). Ensure your training session: a. adheres to existing policies and procedures b. is designed to address performance issues and your recommendation c. demonstrates adherence to overall company aims and objectives d. has a particular target audience e. demonstrates adherence to WHS legislation, codes of practice or standards Students need to develop a training program for workers as part of implementing recommendations.
