Report
California Polytechnic State University Pomona DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL AND COMPUTER ENGINEERING Circuit Analysis II ECE 2101L Report # 5 Prepared by Presented to S. Torousian March 5, 2024 Objective:
The objective was to create RLC circuits and to test for the differences in voltage and current values. The lab also required graphing the phasor and time domain plots of the two circuits using an oscilloscope in order to calculate impedance and view the phase responses of the circuits. Procedure Lab 1. Calculate the theoretical capacitance reactance and circuit impedance of the RC circuit. 2. Calculated the resistor and capacitor voltages using voltage divider rule. 3. Built the circuit setting the generator to 10 khz and 2 Vpp. 4. Recorded peak to peak voltage across capacitor and time deviation between VC and input signal using the math function on the oscilloscope. 5. Calculated and recorded the experimental impedance value and xc value. 6. Increased input frequency. Recorded output ratio and input amplitudes. 7. Made an RL circuit by replacing the capacitor with an inductor . 8. Repeat steps 1-6.

Conclusion In conclusion, by replicating the RL and RC circuits and connecting them to the oscilloscope we were able to graph the phasor and time domain plots using a generator for power. We confirmed our theoretical values by comparing them to the values generated by the oscilloscope; any further blanks on the data chart we were able to calculate using our experimental data and verify by using the percent error equation.
