Lab 5: Universal Gates Introduction With as many possible gate circuits that can be created, one handy condition is that in almost every case,different logic gates can be used in place of others. In this laboratory, you will be working to create one kind of gate using another. Objectives Students will increase their knowledge of gate development by creating a NAND gate with one or more NOR gates, and by creating a NOR gate with one or more NAND gates. This will continue student learning in the area of using the gate-logic software and creating a breadboard example of the desired product. Part 1: Design Two-Input NAND Using NOR Gate(s) (25 points) Create the NAND gate as specified in the following instructions. Include the following in your lab report: • NAND gate truth table by hand (i.e., don't use the circuit analyzer of Logisim initially). (5 points) A B Output 0 0 1 0 1 1 1 0 1 1 1 0 • Derive a NOR gate-only expression equivalent to NAND using Boolean Algebra rules. (10 points)
• Create the NOR gate-only circuit in Logisim/CircuitVerse. Attach a screenshot of the circuit diagram built in Logisim/CircuitVerse AND the Circuit Analyzer truth table.
