Research Activity Name : Abdelrahman Elgebaly Date : 10/10/2023 CMNS 101 DMA Fundamentals of communication Research Topic __Education in Egypt lowest and highest class of Exploring the Extremes  ____ 1- Identify your Country/ Culture Egypt, located in the northeastern corner of Africa, was home to one of the ancient Middle East's principal civilizations and one of the world's earliest urban and literate societies. Pharaonic Egypt thrived for 3,000 years through native dynasties and brief periods of foreign rule. After Alexander the Great's conquest in 323 BCE, urban Egypt became part of the Hellenistic world. Egypt was conquered by the Romans in 30 BCE and remained part of the Roman Republic and Empire until its conquest by Arab Muslim armies.( Britannica 2023 October 3 ) 2- Using the library system please find the following information A-Where in the world are they located? Northern Africa, bordering the Mediterranean Sea, between Libya and the Gaza Strip, and the Red Sea north of Sudan, and includes the Asian Sinai Peninsula. (CIA 2023,September 15) B- Founding Date? The richness of the annual Nile River flood, coupled with semi-isolation provided by deserts to the east and west, allowed for the development of one of the world's great civilizations. A unified kingdom arose circa 3200 B.C. Egypt has been ruled by many nations, becoming independent in 1952. (CIA 2023,September 15) C- History? Egypt, an ancient kingdom, was a significant economic and cultural influence in North Africa and the Levant until conquered by the Macedonians in 332 B.C.E. Early Egyptian tombs were called mastabas, and around 2780 BCE, Imhotep, Around 2780 BCE King Djoser's architect, built the first pyramids by stacking six smaller mastabas in a pyramids name of pyramids Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure. (Smit Institution , S. (2023, October 2). D- Trade and Industry? Egypt's most important exports include petroleum and petroleum products, followed by raw cotton, cotton yarn, and textiles. Raw materials, mineral and chemical products, and capital goods are also exported. Among agricultural exports are rice, onions, garlic, and citrus fruit. The designations of the pyramids—Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure—correspond to the kings for whom they were built. (Britannica 2023 October 3 ) F- What are they famous for? Inventions? Methods? In Ancient Egypt, Tutankhamun, also known as 'The Boy King', ruled for ten years before passing away after a chariot accident. Ramesses II, also known as Ramesses the Great, reigned for 66 years and was known for his warrior skills and empire expansion. He participated in the largest chariot battle, the Battle of Kadesh. Each Pharaoh had an army, police force, and government officials, with the Vizier being the most important. The Vizier provided daily reports from top officials and brief reports of his kingdom’s activities. ( Egypt, A. (2023, October 1) G- Organization or Association? Egyptian medical syndicate it is a professional association that represent and support medical oppressional in Egypt advocating for their rights and promoting medical ethics. Egyptian center for Economic studies this independent think tank conducts research and analysis on economic social issues providing policy recommendations to support Egypt economic development. H-Aspect of culture? Egypt's culture is rich in ancient civilization, with iconic land markets like Pyramids, Sphinx, and temples. It has strong traditions in art, literature, and music, with influences from Muslim practices like Ramadan and Eid. Education is highly valued in Egypt, aiming to improve social and economic status of knowledge. Formal education is emphasized in primary schools and universities, fostering a diverse and highly valued society Egypt education an extensive education system that outstrips all others in the Middle East and North Africa, and where even tertiary education is free with your information and people each year just had to buy books to complete their education. I Aspect effect on Culture In Egypt, honor is primarily determined by the respect and observance of cultural values such as modesty, loyalty, honesty, and hospitality. People's appearance, dress, and respect for the elderly and authority figures reflect their dignity and honor. Pride and status are derived from being helpful, generous, and charitable. Family loyalty and a man of his word are expected. In Egypt's collectivist society, personal needs often take precedence over family or community needs. ( Scroope, C.2023, October 4)
J Culture effect on Aspect Culture plays a significant role in shaping education opportunities and priorities in Egypt, with varying effects on lower and high-class communities. In lower-class communities, economic challenges often push families to prioritize immediate needs over investing in education. Culture norms and expectations may also influence education, with some families prioritizing practical skills or early employment over formal schooling. In high-class communities, cultural factors often prioritize academic achievement and higher education for social mobility and success in Egypt with varying effects on lower and high social classes.
