Page 1 of 3 COM203 Consulting and Freelancing Practice Test S1 2024 Instructions for the test You must answer 3 (three) questions from the list on the last page. Each answer should be between 300 (minimum) and 400 (maximum) words. Test preparation: Use this practice exam to ensure you allow ample time to complete each section. Please seek assistance from your tutor if you are unsure of how to go about utilising this practice exam as part of your study. However, we will not provide feedback on draft answers. You must ensure that you have studied each module from the unit by reviewing lecture material, tutorial and assessment work and all set readings. IMPORTANT The questions in this practice test are the same as those in the real test and are being provided in advance so that you can prepare fully researched answers. However, no notes are permitted to be brought into the actual test. Answering the questions: Word limit per answer The word limit of approximately 350 words per answer is given in the practice exam to provide guidance on how much content is required for each answer. The whole test should be no more than 1200 words maximum. It is not necessary to memorise direct quotes or exact references although marks will be awarded to answers that refer directly to the unit readings and other relevant reference materials. You do not need to provide a reference list. When referencing, short referencing (in-text or Harvard system) is acceptable e.g. McConville 2011, p.188 (Name Year, Page)
Page 2 of 3 The answer should follow the structure of an academic essay, in a condensed form. Below is a suggested structure but it is up to you to decide how best to address the question. A suggested structure Paragraph 1-2 - addressing the question directly by providing an explanation of how you will address the question including introducing your example (if applicable). This is where you should provide your thesis statement. Paragraphs 3-6 - discussion of the key concepts and theory including any definitions and references to readings and other reference material from your study. Paragraphs 6-8 - description and application of the example to the theory discussed in the above paragraphs. Paragraphs 9/10 - conclusion and reiteration of your answer.

Marks will be assigned for appropriateness and application of a relevant example/s, criticality and analysis of the topic area, evidence of reading and research, logical structure of the answer and the appropriateness, effectiveness, structure and accuracy of the writing END OF PRACTICE TEST.
