1. Imagine that you are reading about a peer-reviewed research study from Medline on the Lakehead University Library website. Here is a description of the study: Researchers were interested in determining how effective chiropractic manipulation might be in reducing shoulder pain in competitive rowers. The researchers obtained a sample from a local rowing club and then assigned rowers to either the treatment condition (i.e.., chiropractic manipulation) or a control group (no manipulation). The treatment group then underwent once daily treatment with chiropractic manipulation for 2 weeks, while the control group received no treatment. After two weeks, pain report levels using a pain questionnaire were used to compare the levels of shoulder pain in the treatment group compared to the control group. A statistical analysis of the results revealed that those treated with the chiropractic manipulation reported feeling less shoulder pain compared to the control group. The researchers then submitted their investigation to the Journal of Chiropractic Practice and Alternative Medicine and it was later accepted for publication. In your own words, using keywords, concepts, and research evidence learned from your textbook, PowerPoint slides, and video lecture material ..... a) Critically evaluate this study using all the strategies you know of now on how to be a good critical-thinker. Recently, I was reading in TBnewswatch online about a push to have school busses in Thunder Bay acquire dash cameras so that they could officially record incidents where motorists have driven past buses who were picking up children, despite their signal lights flashing. Here are some examples of the concerns that council members expressed: "Quite frankly, I find it incredibly disappointing and shameful that drivers are that reckless that they're blowing around stopped school buses," she said. "It's infuriating to me that we have to look at doing enforcement to break those poor driving habits." "Unfortunately, what we see quite often is many motorists ignoring the law that requires them to stop," he said. "We've been very fortunate that we haven't had a serious incident, but it's only a matter of time." In your own words, using keywords, concepts, and evidence learned from our textbook, PowerPoint slides, and video lecture material .... a) Provide other explanations that might ALSO help one understand how this can happen. Your answer MUST ONLY include keywords and concepts found in our textbook, PowerPoint slides, and video lecture material. 3. LovesThePalms (Stratford, Canada): Hi everyone. I'm planning a trip to Cuba and am interested in a great adults-only all-inclusive resort in Varadero. Does anybody have any suggestions for a great resort? CanadianCubaFan (Moncton, Canada): Hi LovesThePalms! My significant other and I both love The Royalton Hicacos. We've stayed there four times and plan to book it again the next time we visit Varadero. LifesABeach (Saskatoon, Canada): I would strongly advise against The Royalton Hicacos. It has gone downhill and would be a terrible choice. Friends who have been there a number of times, went for the first time after Covid-19 and said it was awful and that the food was no good. They won't be going back. In your own words, using keywords, concepts, and research evidence learned in your textbook, PowerPoint slides, and video lecture material ..... Use your critical-thinking skills that you've learned in this course to carefully and critically evaluate this posting thread. Your answer MUST ONLY include keywords and concepts found in our textbook, PowerPoint slides, and video lecture material. Question 2. In your own
