According to Juan’s Holland’s interest codes, he works better being hands-on and working with tools, machines, physical objects, as well as succeeds working and helping with others and working through more complex issues through research and analysis. In Juan’s Myers-Briggs test, he scored ENTJ personality. Characteristics for this personality type includes being a natural leader, strategic thinker, having assertive communication, is driven and ambitious, confident with their decisions, and take on challenges. Given Juan’s military background, along with these two personality tests, Juan needs a career that allows him to work with others outdoors with complex issues. Juan may benefit in working in law enforcement. Additionally, bringing in the high scores in openness and extraversion from the Big 5 test and Juan’s results of helping others and society, responsibility, and security in the values card sort provides more insight in how Juan could succeed in working in a law enforcement agency. Juan has already provided information about his questions being dismissed at his recent interview which could be due to Juan’s ethnic background or his age. I would like to further assess Juan’s take on working with law enforcement. Juan briefly mentioned wishing he would have stayed in the Air Force where he was treated based on his work performance, so maybe that would be something Juan would consider.
