Building Communication and Collaboration Skill Resources to improve awareness of communication skills in the professional setting Improving awareness of communication skills in a professional setting involves utilizing a variety of resources. Books provide in-depth knowledge and insights into effective communication strategies, while online courses offer structured learning and practical techniques ( Khairunnisa et al., 2022) . Engaging in recommended exercises, such as role-playing scenarios or public speaking practice, helps to reinforce and apply the newly acquired skills. Seeking feedback from peers and friends can provide valuable perspectives and constructive criticism, contributing to continuous improvement. Additionally, attending workshops and seminars, observing experienced professionals, and receiving mentorship are also valuable resources for developing professional communication skills. By combining these resources, individuals can gain a multifaceted understanding of effective communication practices and continuously enhance their abilities in the professional environment. The most effective communication skills that nurses bring to collaborative interactions and their importance in practice? Nurses play a crucial role in collaborative interactions, and their effective communication skills greatly impact patient care and teamwork. Active listening is a fundamental skill that enables nurses to truly understand the needs and concerns of patients, their families, and other healthcare team members. Awareness of nonverbal cues allows nurses to pick up on unspoken communication, enhancing their ability to provide the best care ( Arnold, & Boggs, 2019) . Confidence enables nurses to communicate clearly and assertively, while flexibility allows them
to adapt their communication style to suit different individuals and situations. Constructive feedback, provided in a supportive manner, helps improve patient care and team dynamics. Moreover, honesty and courtesy are essential for building trust and rapport with colleagues, patients, and their families. Empathy, the ability to understand and share the feelings of others, is crucial for creating an environment of compassion and understanding. Lastly, verbal clarity ensures that communication is easily understood, reducing the risk of misunderstandings that can lead to errors in patient care. Overall, these skills are important in nursing practice because they empower nurses to collaborate effectively with their colleagues, address the needs of patients holistically, and contribute to a positive and cohesive healthcare environment ( Arnold, & Boggs, 2019) . It is imperative that nurses competently communicate with team members. Healthcare teams have a common purpose: to provide safe, optimal patient care with successful outcomes through communication and collaboration. References Khairunnisa, N. A., Rahman, M.
