Part One: Day-to-day Precaution & Prevention
1.
The possibility of being sued for any reason, whether an accident, a
suspicion of child abuse, or alleged wrongful exclusion of a child, can
be minimized by taking precautionary and preventive steps in your
day-to-day operation. According to the course textbook, what are
three good ways to do that? One of the good ways to take
precautionary and preventive steps in your day-to-day operation is by
promoting open and trusting communication with parents. Secondly,
by ensuring proper supervision and appropriate health and safety
procedures, one should maintain well-trained staff members who are
adequate in number. Thirdly, one should thoroughly check the
references of the job applicants and document you did the checking
and the date you did it.
Part Two: CASE STUDY.
1. What is the first thing you should do? The first thing to do is clean the
vomiting properly using detergents that can sanitize the place, ensure
all the children are okay, and then immediately take Bobby to see the
school nurse.
2. One of the teachers suggests allowing Bobby to stay the rest of the
day, lying down, separated from the other children. Is this a good idea?
It is not a good idea as the child may be critically ill and in need of
medical assistance; therefore, I suggest notifying her parents after
taking him to the school nurse.
3. At what point should you contact Bobby's mother? After cleaning the
vomiting and taking Booby to see the school nurse, if there is one
available, then I would contact Booby's mother and explain the situation
to her.
4. When should Bobby be allowed to return? Booby should be allowed to
return after seeking medical assistance and when he feels better.
