Introduction Addiction to the internet among adolescents is one of the most practical and devastating problems facing today's youth population. A sizeable fraction of today's children and teenagers are incapable of functioning normally without constant access to the internet. It is characterized by worry when the individual is unable to connect to the internet, increased time spent on the internet, and a disdain for personal hygiene ( Bickham, 2021). It would appear that the neural imprints and symptoms of substance misuse show in a manner that is strikingly comparable to that of addiction to the internet among adolescents. The objective of this essay is to evaluate internet addiction in young people as a contemporary issue that affects teenagers. The paper also focuses on identifying a destructive challenge and providing mentoring programs to aid in finding long-lasting solutions to the problem. Literature Review Addiction to the internet has a variety of unfavorable effects on young people, particularly adolescents. Some people have been experiencing this effect on a chronic basis, while others are making concerted efforts to alleviate their symptoms. Some of the obvious repercussions of this condition are emotional instability, low self-esteem, and depression. Depression and poor self-esteem commonly cause individuals to build a version of themselves in an online fantasy world ( Malinauskas & Malinauskiene, 2019). These worlds are often created through the use of the internet. It's important to note that a wide range of outside stresses can both start and intensify internet addiction. External Sources of Stress The phase of human development known as adolescence is the most difficult and stressful of all the stages. It is linked to a number of negative outcomes that are brought on by both
primary and secondary changes in the human body. The majority of people have already changed the course of their lives by the time they reach these phases of growth. Because of their irresponsible actions and ways of living, a considerable number of young people in the United States who showed great promise have taken their own lives ( Bickham, 2021). Maintaining reputations among classmates, receiving instruction from parents, and participating in athletic activities are all examples of common sources of stress for adolescents. People from all over the world are able to communicate with one another through the medium of the internet. In addition to this, it gives consumers access to current events that are happening all around the world in real time. It has also contributed to the success of a large number of business owners and entrepreneurs by facilitating connections between them and potential clients. On the other hand, these advantages have been undermined by juvenile offenders who utilize the internet to plot and carry out their illegal crimes. On the other hand, some adolescents find that using the internet helps them deal with their feelings and accomplish vital activities, such as looking for educational resources ( Sarıalioğlu, Atay & Arıkan, 2022). Teenagers who are cultivating healthy adaptation abilities do not have a good understanding of how to properly cope with the stressors in their lives, which leaves them with the internet as their sole source of solace. Assessment of Internet Addiction Because each person is singular and idiosyncratic, the signs and symptoms of Internet addiction in adolescents might look very different from one another. Assessment techniques that are appropriate for internet addiction start with the observation stage and move on to the testing step. In other words, a nurse needs to begin by studying the patient's physical appearance and characteristics before proceeding with any further assessment. During the teen years, it is the duty of parents to keep a close eye on any warning signals that their children may be developing

an addiction to the internet ( Xu et al., 2020). Leaving behind social groups, spending an excessive amount of time on one's mobile device or internet, experiencing a decline in academic performance, and having emotions of worry or irritability when one is not using their device are some of the frequent symptoms. It is important to recognize symptoms and behaviors as soon as possible so that treatment might have the greatest chance of being successful. SWOT Analysis of the Project STRENGTHS Improved quality of life Reducing laziness Reduced exposure to internet bullying Reduced crime rates Political stability WEAKNESSES Inadequate resources such as sources of funds Lack of co-operation amongst the targeted group of people in a community Language barrier Cultural incompetence OPPORTUNITY Readiness of the government, well- wishers, and non-governmental agencies to fund the project. Availability of professional and experienced human professionals. Availability of good infrastructure. THREATS Stiff competitions from other projects Inconsistencies Unwillingness of targeted group of the community to participate. Lack of adequate funds Poor communication skills Political instability Project Planning and Development Teenagers who are coping with the effects of external pressures should know that they are not alone and that they have access to a wide variety of tools and support choices. The major objective of the project is to provide long-term solutions to adolescents striving to improve their addictive to internet conditions. Indeed, this will enable them to enhance their quality of life and avoid unnecessary health disorders ( Sarıalioğlu, Atay & Arıkan, 2022). In addition, the project
aims at creating awareness to the community regarding the adverse effects of internet addictions to teens. Based on research and assessment findings, many parents believe that their children’s academic performances have drastically reduced due to uncontrollable access to internet and social media platforms. Supportively, many students have confessed that they are extremely struggling to avoid social media platforms. Due to these complaints, the project will facilitate a mentorship program focusing on educating young people on how they can prevent internet addiction. The mentorship program will run for one week and integrate different resourceful strategies to improve the lives of people suffering from internet addiction. As far as the project is concerned, it targeted all groups of people regardless of age, sex, gender, origin, and skin color. However, it majorly targeted the adolescents who suffer from internet addiction, which eventually impacts their studies. Counseling and cognitive behavioral therapy are the most effective treatment methods for internet addiction in adolescents. The mentoring of parents is another method that can be utilized in the fight against internet addiction among adolescents. In this scenario, parents are responsible for monitoring and controlling their children's access to the internet. In addition to this, other therapeutic techniques include engaging in consistent physical activity and participating in intense counseling ( Kaya & Dalgiç, 2021). The internet is an essential component of our lives, and it is always undergoing new developments. It is essential that we find a middle ground between the amount of time we spend on our phones and the amount of time we spend engaging in face-to-face conversation with other people.
Implementation Strategies of the Project Creating a mentorship program for young people in the community can be a great leadership project that can have a positive impact on the lives of many individuals. Here are some possible steps to consider when implementing such a project: Identification of the need: Before starting the mentorship program, it is important to identify the specific needs of the young people in the community. This could be done through surveys, focus groups or discussions with educators, youth workers or parents. Recruiting of mentors: Once the need has been identified, the next step is to recruit mentors who are willing to volunteer their time to support young people. Mentors could be adults from the community who have experience working with young people, or older youth who have already achieved success in their own lives. Development of mentorship guidelines: It is important to develop clear guidelines for the mentorship program, outlining the expectations for both mentors and mentees. This could include things like the frequency and duration of meetings, the goals of the program, and the roles and responsibilities of both parties. Matching mentors with mentees: Once mentors have been recruited and guidelines have been established, the next step is to match mentors with mentees. This could be done based on interests, skills, or other factors that are important to the success of the program. Training: It is important to provide mentors with training and support to ensure that they are equipped to provide effective mentorship ( Kaya & Dalgiç, 2021). This could include training on communication skills, goal-setting, and conflict resolution. Monitor and evaluation the program : Finally, it is important to monitor and evaluate the mentorship program to ensure that it is meeting the needs of both mentors and mentees.

Regular check-ins and feedback sessions can help to identify areas for improvement and ensure that the program is delivering the desired outcomes. Evaluation Strategies Mentoring is frequently one component of a program that also includes tutoring, life skills training, and coaching. The supportive, healthy connections built between mentors and mentees provide both immediate and long-term advantages for both mentors and mentees. Benefits to the young people include: Increased rates of high school graduates Lower rates of high school dropout Better relationships and lifestyle decisions A more positive attitude about school Higher rates of college enrollment and educational aspirations Increased self-esteem and confidence Better conduct at home and at school Improved connections with parents, teachers, and peers Enhanced interpersonal abilities Addiction to the internet among adolescents is one of the most practical and devastating problems facing today's youth population. A sizeable fraction of today's children and teenagers are incapable of functioning normally without constant access to the internet. It is characterized by worry when the individual is unable to connect to the internet, increased time spent on the internet, and a disdain for personal hygiene ( Xu et al., 2020). The brain footprints left by addiction to the internet are quite similar to those left by addiction to substances. This is because the features of the neurochemicals that are released are very similar.
Addiction to the internet has a variety of unfavorable effects on young people, particularly adolescents. Some people have been experiencing this effect on a chronic basis, while others are making concerted efforts to alleviate their symptoms. Some of the obvious repercussions of this condition are emotional instability, low self-esteem, and depression. Depression and poor self-esteem commonly cause individuals to build a version of themselves in an online fantasy world ( Huang et al., 2021). These worlds are often created through the use of the internet. It's important to note that a wide range of outside stresses can both start and intensify internet addiction. It is commonly believed that a person's teenage years are the most emotionally taxing and stressful years of their lives. The majority of people have already changed the course of their lives by the time they reach these phases of growth ( Peris et al., 2020). Because of their irresponsible actions and ways of living, a considerable number of young people in the United States who showed great promise have taken their own lives. Teenagers have a lot of things to worry about on a daily basis, including the pressure from their parents and teachers to do well in school and achieve their goals, the pressure from their classmates to keep up a certain reputation and image, and the pressure from extracurricular activities and sports ( Peris et al., 2020). People from all over the world are able to communicate with one another through the medium of the internet. In addition to this, it gives consumers access to current events that are happening all around the world in real time. It has also contributed to the success of a large number of business owners and entrepreneurs by facilitating connections between them and potential clients. On the other hand, these advantages have been undermined by juvenile offenders who utilize the internet to plot and carry out their illegal crimes ( Siste et al., 2021). On the other hand, some
adolescents find that using the internet helps them deal with their feelings and accomplish vital activities, such as looking for educational resources. Teenagers who are cultivating healthy adaptation abilities do not have a good understanding of how to properly cope with the stressors in their lives, which leaves them with the internet as their sole source of solace. Because each person is singular and idiosyncratic, the signs and symptoms of Internet addiction in adolescents might look very different from one another. An effective evaluation of online addiction must take into account the following factors in order to be compliant with the diagnostic guidelines for pathological gambling. Preoccupation with the internet, sufficient time to be pleased, emotional changes, risk of loss of life endeavors, using the internet as an escape, difficulty to stop, and being online for longer than intended are all signs of problematic internet use ( Huang et al., 2021). During the teen years, it is the duty of parents to keep a close eye on any warning signals that their children may be developing an addiction to the internet. Reflection Effective and successful deployment of authentic leadership practices lead to long-term, veritable, and sustainable organizational performance. I have always been a proponent of authentic leadership, which has enhanced my company’s performance and success. I believe that authenticity is the root construct or principle underlying all the positive leadership styles. Amongst the four components of authenticity, I often reciprocate self-awareness. By definition,

self-awareness is being conscious of and the degree of our desires, feelings, and self-concept. In light with the project, I have learned that employees are interested to emulate the leadership style practiced by their leader because they could physically witness its positive impacts. As a result, they act courageously, they often resist temptation, and they feel empowered to make ethical decisions without the need of their leaders’ inputs. In the midst of the project, I demonstrated to the significance of adopting authentic leadership style. It is evident that the authentic leadership of the company’s leader is associated with higher follower satisfaction, commitment, effort, performance, and organizational citizenship behavior. In addition, transformational leadership, by description, focuses on terminal values such as justice, equality, and liberty. The values primarily energize, motivate, and mobilize followers while developing an agenda for action, and appeal to larger audiences. Leaders who embrace transformational leadership are guided and controlled by duty. They are often driven by universal ethical standards and principles and treat other staff members with respect and dignity. In addition, they are altruistic in empowering others and emphasizing on shared objectives and goals. I learned a lot of skills and leadership knowledge from Ronald Rawlings, who served as the project’s coordinator. He demonstrated transformational leadership characteristics throughout his leadership regime. Besides, he founded Lusaka Inc., a company that deals with the production of electricals such as laptops, woofers, and home-theatres. Some of the characteristics of a transformational leadership that I learned include; individualized consideration, idealized influence, intellectual simulation, and inspirational motivation. Notably, transformational theorists have been labeled as leader-centric because they focus on leaders while downplaying the contributions of followers. Ronald adopted stratification and business expansion strategies to ensure that the project’s scope and market share increases.
Conclusion Teenagers who are coping with the effects of external pressures should know that they are not alone and that they have access to a wide variety of tools and support choices. There are a number of therapeutic options available, including cognitive behavior therapy and counseling, as well as drugs that are typically employed in the treatment of depression or ADHD. Another form of intervention consists of setting alarm clocks to limit time spent online or deciding beforehand how much time can be spent doing so each day. RESTART was a six-month residential program that featured intensive treatment, frequent exercise, and strictly controlled computer use. This combination of elements was what helped Andrew Fulton overcome his addiction to the internet. The internet is an essential component of our lives, and it is always undergoing transitions and developments. It is essential that we find a middle ground between the amount of time we spend on our phones and the amount of time we spend engaging in face-to-face conversation with other people. As parents and healthcare professionals, we have the ability to educate others and convey effective habits in order to prevent the difficulties that can be caused by internet addiction. Numerous mentoring programs have been established recently that focus on problems that cannot be solved alone by using conventional teaching and learning techniques. The benefits of mentoring have been extensively established, and it plays a key part in the growth and development of both mentors and mentees. Therefore, organizations, academic institutions, enterprises, and governments are rapidly implementing mentoring programs in a wide range of sectors. Although there is a growing corpus of literature on mentoring and mentorship programs, it can be difficult to have a comprehensive understanding of the subject ( Tereshchenko & Kasparov, 2019). As a result, we give a succinct overview of suggestions in this post that should
be taken into account while creating mentoring programs. These suggestions are based on the combined wisdom and practical wisdom of 4 diverse rising.
