Descriptive Essay About My Favorite Food
Enjoying delicious foods can count as one of my "hobbies"; from crunchy, buttery popcorn to zesty
ice cream, from fresh sashimi of sushi to the rich seafood of Spanish fried rice. But, if you ask me
what is my favorite food among all these delicacies, the only answer that I can give to you is, "My
mom's cooking." Every morning, opening my lunch bag, the water vapor inside my lunch box lid
starts my copacetic day. During lunch time, the 'ding' sound of microwave after one minute and
thirty seconds determined my attitude over the whole day. Lunch, my mom's handmade food
, is my
passion. Maybe you are thinking that I'm exaggerating about 'lunch', but every grain of rice in my
lunch box makes up who I am. I learned my identity from my

bring my lunch to school every day, but none of those said before come close to my heart like
Chinese food. Since that day, I found out that my mom did this on purpose. That day, unlike before,
my lunch bag was heavy. With unstoppable curiosity, I looked inside of my lunch bag. "Yes!" I
almost screamed at the same time; my favorite; Chinese food, traditional, mom's hand–making,
vegetables, meat, and white rice! It doesn 't look like the regal food the nobles dance around, or the
shining treasures with a box, in contrast too much soy sauce made the potato slices look abrasive
and coarse, with minced meat on the top, adding a more biting taste to it.
During a lunch break, two girls sitting next to my table captured my attention. One of them pointed
at my lunchbox and talked to the another. Although my English was not that good at that time, but I
heard from their few isolated words;"ugly", "weird", and "disgusting". I ignored them. However, I
was scared, I was scared to be the 'outsider', but I realized that I'm always the outsider. "Is this the
reason why my mom didn't bring Chinese food for me?" I thought.
That was a culture shock to them.
I continued to bring my lunch to school every day. But, from that moment on, I subconsciously

My Favorite Restaurants Essay
My Favorite Restaurants
As far back as I can remember, I have always liked going out to eat. Two of my favorite restaurants
are Jake's and McDonald's. Though both are places to dine they have their differences in their
ambiance, waiting, and expense. When deciding where to go to eat, I have three things to think
about. I must consider the atmosphere or where I want to go. The amount of time I have is another
consideration. The amount of money that I am able to spend is a big influence.
The atmosphere at Jake
's is casual, and people came to spend several hours. Jake's has a waiting
room with long, leather–topped benches to sit on while waiting. Some tables are round and some are
long rectangles, so everything can fit on them. The

Because Jake's is popular it fills up rapidly but does not empty out quickly.
As a result people planning to eat at Jake's they might want to consider making reservations because
the wait can take up to two–hours if they do not. When customers are finally seated, a waiter is
assigned to their table. The first thing the waiter does, is ask what the customers wants to drink.
About three minutes later, the drinks are served. Next the waiters bring some buttered rolls to eat
while the customers are waiting, and of course, there are always peanuts. Customers are encouraged
to throw the hulls on the floor. After waiting about seven to ten minutes, the waiter comes back to
the table and takes the customers' orders. About ten minutes later, the waiter brings out the salads
and refills the customers' drinks. A half an hour later, the waiter brings out the customers' food.
There is a more rapid pace at McDonald's. Here customers have the option of driving through or
dining in. The customers walk up to the counter and give their order. The food should be ready in
the next two minutes. However, if the counter person gets the order wrong, the customers may have
to wait longer. If the customer goes through the drive–thru, they drive up and say their order into a
box operated by a person they don't see. Next they drive around to the little window, the casher takes
their money. The customer then drives to the next window

My Favorite Meal Pad Thai
What is your favorite meal, and how does it reflect various developments in the history of
agriculture, and larger environmental history?
Pad Thai is my favourite meal to enjoy during both lunch and dinner times. It is notably one of the
most famous Thai dishes outside of Thailand and can be found served in all Thai restaurants and
eateries in Singapore. It is a savoury dish which consists of rice noodles stir–fried with eggs,
shrimps, fried tofu cubes, garlic, red chilli peppers, seasoned with fish sauce, tamarind pulps, palm
sugars and served with chopped roast peanuts and lime slices. Other than these staple ingredients,
condiments such as bean sprouts, coriander leaves and proteins such as slices of beef, chicken or
pork may also be added to one's tasting. Pad Thai is not only tasty but is an example of how
Columbian Exchange influenced and provided for the food ingredients found in pad Thai and the
cultural perception which we have for Thai cuisine today. The popularisation of pad Thai as
Thailand
's national dish also reflected how food could be closely linked to the country's economic
growth, national identity and nutrition.
In Thailand, pad Thai is lovingly called the national dish of Thailand and is commonly served as a
street food or in local eateries. However, this stir–fried rice noodle dish which full name is called

patterns allowed for the exchange of plants, animals and humans which greatly influenced the local
way of life. These ingredients found in pad Thai although non–native to Thailand, were keys in
creating the flavourful pad Thai and shaped the global cultural perception of Thailand – the
association of pad Thai as the representative dish of Thailand until

My Favorite Food
Ever since I was a little boy, pizza has always had a special place in my heart. From pizza day in the
school cafeteria to pizza parties at sleep away camp, there was nothing more exciting than when that
cardboard box was opened to reveal a round pie with eight delicious slices waiting to be devoured.
Early on I learned that everybody eats their pizza differently. There are those who fold their slices in
half, those who eat their slices with two hands, and those who (dare I say) like to cut their pizza with
a fork and knife. Some people soak up the olive oil with a napkin, while others don't mind a greasy
slice. Some people like the crust, while others live for that first bite. Some people decorate their
slices with spices, while others

There is no better place to digest Grimaldi's than on the Brooklyn Heights Promenade overlooking
lower Manhattan. It's the only place in the city that I can be assured to find at least one bride and
groom snapping photos every time I'm there. On weekend afternoons it's common to see five or six
couples taking wedding photos. Walking back on the bridge, one feels content, satisfied,
accomplished, and [insert positive feeling here]. There are few experiences that rival this.
The spring of 2004 took me to Italy where I spent a semester studying in Florence. At the time, I
was not a big foodie, so I rarely kept track of where I ate. Today, however, if I was to return, my
entire trip would be dictated by food. Although Florence is a very Americanized city, my apartment
was a 20 minute walk from the center of town. One evening, while exploring the area around our
apartment, my roommates and I discovered a little hole–in–the–wall restaurant on a hidden side
street. There wasn't a single English speaking person in the entire place and there was no English
version of the menu. Although I have no idea what this place was named, I know how to get back

Descriptive Essay About Spaghetti
Did you have any food obsessions as a kid, and eat the same thing continually?
Ordinarily, the one meal I am willing to kill over is spaghetti. The one person who comes to mind
when I think about spaghetti is my grandmother. Her sauce is as thick as her history and the many
layers to the dish represent the transitions she has had all throughout her life. Spaghetti is my go–to
meal for heartaches, stress, and happiness. I can 't just eat anyone 's spaghetti or any type of
spaghetti. First, it has to be my Mammaw 's (grandmother) spaghetti because she adds the perfect
amount of sugar and love into her infamous sauce
.
Above all, She 's extremely talented in the kitchen and it 's because of her background. My

Eating half naked sounds weird, well it is weird, but that just shows you the closeness of our
relationship. I 'm obsessed with spaghetti, it 's the best carbs a girl could get her hands on.
For instance, when my grandmother is cooking her infamous spaghetti, the whole neighborhood
knows because you can smell the sauce from outside of the house. We use to stay in a small shotgun
house and since there was poor ventilation, she would cook with the door open. Well, we had to stop
that because neighbors would beg like no tomorrow for a plate of food
, the same neighbors who
wouldn 't even lend you a cup of sugar if your life depended on it. Moreover, the downfall of her
cooking without the door open is that my mouth would hang to the floor the whole time the meal
was being prepared because I would be mesmerized.
When she cooks, she seduces you and the aromas pull moans from the bottom of your belly. I
remember this one time my nose got me in trouble. My nose grew feet and walked me to the kitchen
where I saw the spaghetti cooling off on the counter, I figured one or three spoonfuls of the sauce
would hurt, well I was wrong. The sauce was so hot on my tongue that tears came out of my eyes. I
screamed and screamed until my grandmother came in the kitchen. She said, " Girl what in the hell
is wrong with you?"
I mumbled, "Mawmaw my tongue is on fire."
She giggled,"Fatty butt, you couldn 't wait, I 've told you too many times to not to open my pots,"
she 's really strict

My Favorite Food
One of the foods I enjoy is chinese food, still to this day i love it. If I could i would eat it for
breakfast, lunch, dinner. However, i know if i would eat it on a regular basis, soon i would get tired
of it. Orange chicken was the light of my day, it was what i looked forward to when eating chinese
food. Now i can not help but to ignore it, at all cost if necessary. I distinctly remember the feeling i
had that day i ate one of my favorite foods. It was about four years ago, 2013, i was 13 and in the
8th grade. It was my first time at ever at Six Flags, i was scared out of my mind and felt a little
anxious. We stopped to eat late in the afternoon, we went to the closest place we could fine, which
happened to be Panda Express. Panda express is one of my favorite chinese places to eat so i had no
problem in eating there. I bought chow mein, beef and broccoli, and orange chicken; i ate the orange
chicken first because it is my favorite. However, that's the only thing i ate because i started to feel
sick and experience stomachaches. I went the rest of that day in pain and in discomfort, until i
eventually threw up right before a ride. Now every time i see orange chicken i get a feeling of
sickness and tend to avoid eating it at all costs. The unconditioned stimulus is the orange chicken, i
had never had a problem or bad experience with it. The unconditioned response would be the sick
feeling i got for eating it, i have eaten orange chicken multiple times and never gotten sick.

Descriptive Essay : My Favorite Food
A famous poet once said that, "Food is also closely related to memory. We eat certain things in a
particular way in order to remember who we are." I can't agree more. As I was born and grew up in
China, this country gives me the most delicious food and cherished memories. As we know, China
covers a large territory and has many nationalities. So, there is a variety of Chinese food with
different but fantastic and tasty flavor
. Today, I want to introduce you my favorite food, which has
special meaning to me. It is a kind of noodle
. But there are many different kinds of noodles in my
country, I don't even count down how many are them. For example, In Shanxi, the most famous
noodle is sliced noodles; in Guangdong, it has dry fried noodles; in Sichuan, people love spicy hot
noodles very much. In my pleasant hometown Wuhan, the hot dry noodles, also known as
"reganmian", is a traditional and the most famous local dish in Central China. For I was born in
Wuhan and live in there for almost all my life, I can say that hot dry noodles is my favorite with no
doubt. The hot–dry noodles are meaningful to me because of two reasons. First, they origin from my
hometown use the simplest integrates and taste amazing; Second, they help me go through the most
difficult time living aboard.
The hot dry noodles should not be considered as simple food. Not only because the noodles have
enjoyed a long history within Chinese food culture over 80 years, but also they are popular with

excellent source of potassium, also an interesting fact (mushrooms helps with migraine headaches.)
The sundried tomatoes are sparingly sprinkled throughout the dish because the flavor is quite
intense, concentrated and slightly salty so a little goes along way. Many vegetables give pasta the
picture perfect look. When eating this incredible tasting pasta I understand what it takes to make
food so inviting. It has many different yet, incredible savory sauces and different ways of being
crafted it can easily be adapted in diverse culture which makes pasta that more interesting. The pasta
dish has come a long way from its original creation in the 18th century with its ingredients that
consisted of only egg , flour, cheese, and cream; however, it has evolved into a food of art that has
my taste buds more in–tact. Its roman herbs and spices give me a feeling of warmth and

Sushi: A Research on My Favorite Food
My favorite dish is sushi, which is a collective name for a variety of different preparations. There is
sashimi, which is just fish, nigiri which consists of fish and rice, and rolls, which can have a
multitude of different ingredients. The dish is Japanese in origin, though many cultures have raw
fish preparations, like Polynesian culture and Peruvian as well. While raw fish is often considered to
be the central ingredient, the key to sushi (except sashimi
) is the special rice that defines the dish.
Sushi's history is steeped in folklore. One story is that in ancient Japan, a woman was hiding her rice
in osprey nests so that it would not be stolen. The rice was ferment slightly, and the ospreys would
leave bits of fish. The combination of fish and fermented rice was considered to be delicious, and
that it also served to preserve fresh fish a little bit as well (Avey, 2012). By the mid–1700s, the rice
was being prepared in a formal way, using cooked rice that was seasoned with rice vinegar as an
accompaniment to fish. The layers were compressed in a box for two hours, sliced and served (Avey,
2012).
The next development in the preparation of sushi came in the 1820s in Edo (now Tokyo). A vendor
with a good location near a bridge developed a quicker version of the process, where the cooked
rice, vinegar and salt were let to sit for a few minutes, delivering a "quick fermentation" process.
The sushi was then hand–pressed with a ball of rice and a slice of fish from the

Describe My Favorite Food
My favorite food of all time is my grandma's oatmeal scotchies! Oatmeal scotchies are regular
oatmeal cookies with butterscotch chips baked into them. They are super delicious! When my
grandma first wanted me to try the oatmeal scotchies I didn't think I would like them because I
thought they were just oatmeal cookies. But I ended up loving them! Once when my friends and I
had one of our last basketball league games, it was a day before my birthday so I brought oatmeal
scotchies and everyone loved them! Oatmeal scotchies are so good!
Another one of my favorite foods is my mom and dad tacos! They are so yummy! When my mom
and dad make tacos they have a bunch of different toppings to go in the taco. We always have
lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, onions, peppers, sour cream, salsa and of course the taco meat! It is all so
colorful. They also make nacho cheese and we have corn chips to go with the tacos. My Grandpa
even bought us special taco plates because I love tacos so much. The plates are orange, my mom and
I's favorite color, and they have ridges in them to help your taco stand up and a place for your
nachos and sides. I love tacos!!
I really like when my grandma and I make homemade pizza. It tastes so good! We make the pizza
dough from scratch, well my Grandma does, and then we spoon on the sauce and sprinkle on the
cheese and last but not least the pepperonis! Lots of pepperoni. We make the pizza around Christmas
time and have dinner over

My Favorite Experience Of Eating Food
As a foodie, eating foods is my favorite thing and I also find my speciality in eating, that is tasting
food and know the condiment in every dishes. When I was a child, I usually go to kitchen to see
adults cooking. My intention is not to learn how to cook, but to know where the dishes that I felt
very delicious from out of curiosity. As time passed, I knew the recipe of every dishes that I like
gradually and learned how to improve it taste
. I born at a country that have many delicious foods
and the cuisine like to use many kinds of condiments. Through the process of knowing the recipe of
cuisine, I also learned many condiments and their use. I didn't know I can have the skill that I can
know what condiments put in dishes until I was in middle school. Once a time, I taste a food that
cooked by an aunt, then I asked her if this dish used some sugar and Thirteen Spice (a spice that
produced at China) and cooked by olive oil rather than sesame oil. The aunt is very surprised that I
got the whole right condiments. She praised me a lot and said I had this skill that other people don't
have. After that, I begin to notice my gustation and form a habit that Before I eat each dish, I have to
try and guess what kind of seasoning is in it. Until now, I still keep this habit.
The process of tasting is happy for me, I enjoy the feeling that food melt in my mouse and the
flavour disperse gradually. But it also exists some problems, I have the keen taste sense and smell
over the average,

Feelings are universal, but what makes them so interesting is how uniquely they can be perceived
from individual to individual. A trigger can spark a feeling in one person that may not faze another.
Take something as simple as food for example. My favorite food brings me comfort and satisfaction,
while that same food may not appeal or interest somebody else. However farfetched it may seem,
the variety in food that is present strongly resembles the variety of religions that exist. Everyone has
their own preference that invokes feelings as a result. Roy Robson of Think World Religions helps
better express this idea with the statement, "Religions often develop shared experiences that produce
emotional responses in people" (15). These

Being able to relate to someone that is so honored and wise gives the hope that it can also be
individually achieved. This connects so strongly with me because of my own religion. I am a
Catholic, my God is held so highly above everything else that it is almost impossible for me to wrap
my head around ever being able to be like him. This is because of all the stories in the Bible of his
miracles and the idea of him being a holy trinity (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit) all in one
at the same time. This places him on a level that seems unreachable and shifts the focus on the
relationship with him instead of with the self like in Buddhism
. I feel like that is why it is so
difficult to keep up with the prayers, following His word, and living as He says we are supposed to,
because no matter how much I love and respect Him I feel like I will never be able to identify on a
personal level with Him. He is higher than any other. This is why it is so easy for me to fall into the
temptations that stray me away from my religion because it is what he speaks against; no matter
how hard I try I won't come close to what he stands for, which affects my faith. There are always
obstacles that must be overcome when it comes to something that an individual really yearns for,
temptation is my obstacle in faith, and is also present in Buddhism. This concept of

Food Essay : My Favorite Food
Food is the one thing that we cannot live without. Even for those who have developed the discipline
to fast for a specified period, eventually, they must start eating again. We love our food to the point
that recorded in history as being the first sin. Food is something we all enjoy, and sometimes it
shows. Most of the human race eats three to four meals a day, and the selection of those foods are
not a part of the recommended daily allowances. I will share my favorite foods, my least favorite
foods, and the reason I eat the way that I do and what foods I will incorporate for a balance diet.
For me, my favorite likes are warm–hot rolls. I prefer wheat more than white with lots of butter.
Biscuits with butter and my homemade apple butter or bacon jam. Oh, my it's yummy. I also make
granola bars with some butter smeared on the bottom of the pan. I put the butter on the parchment
paper which is the last step before I place them in the oven for 25 minutes in a low–temperature
oven. Another one of my likes is my butter crème frosting on top of a white or chocolate cake, and I
scoop the frosting off with lays potatoes chips. These are my special treat items that I occasionally
enjoy.
The food that I enjoy the most is Mexican food. Burrito smothered in green chill, Carnitas,
quesadillas, tacos, guacamole, are my favorite picks. With the population of Hispanics being so
large in Colorado my family enjoys eating Mexican food. The Mexican food here in North Carolina

before you begin describing it. For instance, if you choose pizza, you might start by writing down a
few words: sauce, cheese, crust, pepperoni, sausage, spices, hot, melted, etc. Once you have written
down some words, you can begin by compiling descriptive lists for each one.
Use clear and concise language.
This means that words are chosen carefully, particularly for their relevancy in relation to that which
you are intending to describe.
Choose vivid language.
Why use 'horse' when you can choose 'stallion'? Why not use 'tempestuous' instead

The chicken is a substantial filling for pasta
. My philosophy is no meal is complete without a thick
savory meat
. There are many ways to cook chicken to add into fettuccini pasta. My favorite is Cajun
deep fried chicken breast that's tender and juicy, cut into thin strips. It has a crunchy golden brown
spicy flavored batter. I prefer my chicken cooked to be crispy on the outside, yet not too dry so that
the inner part will be stringy in the inside (kind of like

Describe My Favorite Food
My favorite foods consist of a variety of dishes one of them being warm–hot rolls. I prefer wheat
with lots of butter. Made from scratch biscuits with butter and my homemade apple butter or bacon
jam. Oh, my it's yummy. I also make granola bars with some butter smeared on the bottom of the
pan. Another one of my favorite, unfortunately it is high in saturated fat. It is my butter crème
frosting on top of a white or chocolate cake. I scoop the frosting off with Lays potato chips. These
are my special treats that on occasion I enjoy.
The food that I enjoy the most is Mexican food. Burrito smothered in green chili, Carnitas,
quesadillas, tacos, guacamole, are my favorite picks. With the population of Hispanics being so
large in Colorado, my family enjoys eating Mexican food. The Mexican food here in North Carolina
is not as good as in Colorado, but that's a personal preference.
Enjoying a mixed salad is a must. I enjoy making salads with kale, romaine lettuce, carrots,
cucumbers, kale, cabbage – purple and white, red bell pepper, pickled jalapenos, sweet onions and
then top it off with, avocado, or tuna or grilled chicken or salmon. Another favorite for me are my
homemade soups. I use chicken or beef with the bone still in place because much of the flavor
comes from the bone. I add fresh vegetable, onions, and pearl barley to make it a little hardier.
My least favorite foods are okra, sardines, pig feet, pig ears, are disgusting. The thought of eating

My Favorite Foods : Sandwiches
Usually when someone asks me "what is your favorite food?" My immediate reply is food. I know
that sounds like I 'm trying to be funny but it 's true. I enjoy such a wide variety of food that to
narrow it down to "this is my favorite food that I would be happy eating for the rest of my life," it 's
nearly impossible. So I have decided to talk about one of my many favorite foods: sandwiches. One
of the things I like the most about sandwiches is that they can be so versatile. You could do
Vietnamese and have bahn–mi or Mexican and have a torta. Or, settle for the old comfort of a peanut
butter and jelly.
Just like it is impossible to narrow down a favorite food
, it 's hard for me to narrow down a least
favorite food as well. I 've always been pretty easy to please in the food department. There aren 't
many things that I don 't like. That being said there are a couple of things that I have tried and found
to be disgusting. Durian definitely tops that list. Durian is a fruit native to South East Asia. It is
distinctive by the fact that it 's covered on spikes and its strong pungent odor. The odor has been
described as rotten onions, turpentine, and even raw sewage. Personally, I 've always felt it smelled
and tasted like dirty socks. I have tried it several times in several different ways, and it 's just not
something that I can handle.
I would have to say the best cook I know is probably my husband. I like to make jokes that I married
him for his skills in the kitchen. It 's
