Week 5 DQ
DQ 1 In the situation that an experienced teacher is harsh and overly critical, I need to remember to use a calm tone and be professional regardless of what was being said. By maintaining active listening and non-verbal ques, the teacher will understand that I am paying attention and am aware of what they are saying. However, I do think that it would be necessary to provide a constructive response that allows the
teacher to know that the delivery of information could be more constructive to benefit the needs of both parties, while still allowing the teacher to know that you are grateful for the knowledge and guidance. DQ 2 I would want to ability group my students by their reading levels and help my students through a strategy called “guiding reading” this will help them read through the text with assistance and support. Students that are struggling to read may need that additional assistance of difficult words, pronunciation
or comprehensive questions that could allow for students to better understand what is being read. I will proactively monitor the entire class, but also keep a sharp eye on the struggling readers and assist if necessary. Once the assignment reading is complete, I will check in with the class as a whole by asking comprehensive questions and have students share their thought or opinions about what they were reading.
