1 8-2 Journal: Letter to Self Dairyel McCloud Southern New Hampshire University CHE 320-Q2814 – Perspectives in Aging Instructor: Dr. Nnawuihe Nwosu Due: Day 7 of Week 8
2 Examining and contrasting the historical and contemporary viewpoints on aging as they have changed over the past few decades has been made possible by this course. As I have thought about the various ways that my parents, grandparents, and I prepare for and handle matters like health, finances, and the future, I have discovered and improved my awareness of the distinctions between them and me. I now have a deeper and more comprehensive awareness of the requirements of the aging population as well as a greater feeling of urgency about meeting those needs thanks to this course. The aging baby boomer population's reliance on the healthcare system needs to be addressed by providing more resources and support in response to the growing need for accessible, cost-effective, and high-quality healthcare for all seniors. Though I haven't decided what I want to do for a living after graduation, I do think that, like all American citizens, I have a duty to support the aging population. I can do this by supporting laws, funding, and judicial decisions that have an impact on the aging population. The knowledge I have gained will help me in my personal life as I take on greater responsibility for caring for my elderly parents and get ready for both of our eventual end-of-life journeys. The newfound perspective will help me make the right selections and better handle the numerous challenging choices.
