S.T.A.R. Assignment — "Tell me about a time when you worked well as a team." Why? A behavioral interview question is used to understand how you work, and, If employed, how you would fit in with the organization. Here's a template with prompts for you to use to write a S.T.A.R. response to the behavioral

interview question "Tell me about a time when you worked well as a team." S.T.A.R. stands for Situation, Task, Action, and Result. It is used in behavioral interviews to help you to structure your answer. In essence, you’re answering with a short story. Your assignment: Complete this example, below, for the question, Tell me about a time when you worked well as a team. Using these prompts, you can structure your response " using the S.T.A.R. framework. Remember to be specific , provide details , and highlight your individual contributions to the team's success. Be prepared to do this in class, following the Spring Break. Good luck! S. Situation: Describe the context of the situation.  What was the project or task? To Find out Car Insurance Companies competitive market compared to Geico Car Insurance  Who was involved in the team? Three other students and I  What was your role in the team? I was I charge of overseeing and helping everyone’s individual tasks, to ultimately put in presentation format for the class.  What was the goal or objective of the project or task? To understand and Global Car Insurance Company Geico and comparing its rates and marketing to other car insurance competitor. T. Task: Explain what was required of you and your team.  What was your specific responsibility or task? My specific task was to take a narrating/ directing role and help the team collab all our facts and information and apply it to the assignment question and presentation in our own words.

 What were the requirements or expectations for the project or task? The requirements were to complete the assignment question while also talking about the completive market specifically Geico Car Insurance.  What challenges or obstacles did you and your team face? Some challenges we faced was applying the information we find and having to meticulously compare car rates from different companies. A. Action: Detail the specific actions you took to address the situation.  What specific steps did you take to contribute to the team's success? Based on the questions and requirements we had, I had asked everyone to throw out some car insurance companies they know which they replied with “Allstate”, “Farmers Insurance” etc. Then assigned each person a car insurance company and told them to give at least 5 facts about their rates, deals, and how they market technology. While they were doing that, I was doing my research and starting to write our intro and general knowledge about marketing section.  What skills or abilities did you use to contribute to the team's success? I used my communication skills to help the group have a focal point to reach the goal of the assignment because it was overwhelming to look at first.  What challenges did you face during the project, and how did you overcome them? Being able to use facts and apply it to our current learning topic in our own words. R. Result: Describe the outcome of the situation.  What was the outcome of the project or task? After gathering everyone’s information about their car insurance company we were able to use the facts they gave and put it into our own words specifically when it comes to who had the best marketing strategies.  What metrics or indicators were used to measure success? | Being able to confidently communicate marketing strategies in chain business and general knowledge of marketing a product to customers. Also, completion of assignments questions about comparing Geico’s competitors rates and deals against their own.

 What did you learn from this experience, and how has it impacted your approach to teamwork? Me personally with not having really any background heavily in teamwork, this experience helped me realize working in a team and being able to talk ideas and thoughts out loud and to just help lift each other up especially during a overwhelming project made it go so smooth and by so fast.
