1. Why does this attempt at project partnering appear to be failing? The attempt at project collaboration seems to be faltering for various reasons: Communication Breakdown: Despite initial team-building attempts, there appears to be a lack of transparent communication among team members. People are hesitant to voice concerns, leading to misunderstandings and conflicts. Blame Game: Instead of working together to solve issues, team members resort to blaming each other, creating a toxic environment that undermines trust and relationships. Lack of Collective Decision-Making: The absence of a clear process for making decisions as a team causes confusion and delays. Some feel decisions are being stalled, adding fuel to tensions. Uncertainty in Roles: Team members are unclear about their responsibilities, resulting in duplicated efforts and missed deadlines. Inadequate Conflict Resolution Procedures: The project lacks formal ways to resolve conflicts swiftly, allowing minor disagreements to escalate into major disputes rapidly. Diminishing Commitment: With time, commitment towards the project and partnership seems to be dwindling. Without strong leadership and continual reinforcement of the benefits of collaboration, shared goals may fade from view. Procrastination in Issue Resolution: Karin postponed addressing issues promptly, causing them to worsen over time. By delaying meetings and direct confrontation with problems, the situation became harder to manage and required more drastic interventions for resolution. 2. If you were Karin, what would you do to get this project back on track? If I were in Karin's shoes, here's my strategy for getting the project back on the right path: Let's kick things off by establishing crystal-clear lines of communication. Regular meetings should be set up to give team members a platform to openly talk about obstacles and share updates on progress.
