A small town in southwest Virginia started a flu vaccine program ten years ago. They had observed that the number of flu cases had decreased over the past ten years. They knew you were a health science administration master student and asked you to see if there was a correlation between the flu vaccinations and the decrease in the number of flu cases. The health department gave you the following data from the last ten years: Flu vaccinations Flu cases 25 400 50 278 70 256 100 200 132 176 154 155 175 132 202 110 226 87 252 66 1. What is the correlation between the number of flu vaccinations and reported cases of the flu? The number of reported flu cases has decreased as the number of vaccinations have increased. Using your graph, what would have been the predicted number of flu cases in year 1 According to the graph, at least 400 cases could have occurred in year 1. 10.
